amazing for gouache. haven't tried watercolor or acrylic w this paintbrush.but it soaks up water good n holds it in the brush nicely, which can make it good for watercolor as well :). it's obv not professional-grade (if that's how you call it), but it's def really really good if you're on a budget or looking for something a little above your "really good" brushes

Better than any normal "flat"!
Love this brush—the bristles hold lots of paint & water, and being a little longer than a regular "flat" brush, they outshine any other for performance. Highly recommend!

Did not appear new
The Princeton Aqua Elite line of brushes are my standard for Watercolor and, as normally received, would normally rate 4 or 5 stars. However, I've dropped it to 3 stars because of how it arrived. This bush arrived loose in a large shipping envelope with no protective plastic sleeve and with bristles that showed no sign of the manufactures normal protective new-brush coating. While the brush luckily arrived in apparently good shape, it has all the signs of not being a totally new item.

thi.s is a good flat brush, glad I bought it. it took for ever to get here. would buy again not from this seller. too slow
