Time Life Flower Power 18 CD Set
The seller gave excellent service and provided exactly what I expected.I purchased the 18 CD box set of Flower Power ( Flower Power - 18 CD Box set Time Life music ), not the 10 CD set. The 10 CD set is not an exact subset of the 18 CD set, if you compare the songs. The 18 CD set does contain many of the songs, but not all songs, of other music CD's: Time Life "Summer of Love" volume 1 or volume 2, "One Hit Wonders," "Dick Bartley Presents...," "The Ultimate 60's...," "Rock Instrumental Classics vol. ...," etc.Unfortunately, you won't find many key artists in this CD set, like Herb Alpert, Dionne Warwick, The Spinners, etc. One could ask: what do they have to do with "flower power?" Time Life has taken a wide view in defining who's included in their CD set, and I don't object. Naturally, shop around: price varies considerably by seller and time-of-year. These are great songs for anyone who loves good music. One point of irritation is: the CD's come in nine double-CD jewel cases, sometimes opening left, sometimes right, and sometimes with great difficulty due to poor fit. These are expressive songs from a very creative era. Enjoy some good digitized music. One should ask oneself: why buy CD's in this age of 99¢ MP3 downloads from Apple or other sources? I only wanted about 50% of the songs from the Flower Power 18 CD set, and could have purchased them much cheaper via downloads. It's probably a little bit faster importing MP3's into your digital music player from CD's. Also, Flower Power has fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on your point of view, digitized most of the hits as you heard them originally on AM radio and 45's. Buying a CD allows you edit sound levels and song length before importing into iTunes. Unfortunately, iTunes's "Sound Check" feature doesn't seem to work very well. iTunes's analysis/adjustments don't seem to correspond well to hearing perception. I can't imagine what the sound "engineers" were thinking for their original mixes, but iTunes playback levels are all over the auditory map. Changing sound levels of uncompressed CD music in a free sound editor (like Audacity) sometimes helps playback levels.Other CD's from this era and genre worth considering might be: Summer Of Love: The Hits of 1967 Summer of Love 1 Summer of Love: Gold Summer Of Love Box Set Summer Of Love Vol. 2: Turn On { Various Artists } Summer of Love: 40th Anniversary Summer of Love: The Sound of 1967

Excellent collection of classic songs from the 60’s
Wonderful inexpensive collection of many pop-psych classics of the 60’s. Nothing rare, but if you want a lot of terrific songs from that decade on one disc this is a fine choice.

Awesome, long live the FLOWER!!!
They were good. Time Life was offering their own same product but without as many CDs, so for the same price I got 6 extra CDs of Music. The Flower Power Series is awesome! A lot of unknown or more rare music, some of the music is not as popular as others but it is a collection of more rare music which is great. This is one of the best CD collections I have ever purchased!

Essential budget 60's comp!
So good to have this on cd! Had the tape as a kid, and it's a good place to start building your late 60's music collection. The cd has two extra songs the cassette did not! ("Happy Together"-The Turtles and "Hello, Hello"- Sopwith Camel).

Great set!
I love this set of CDs - it has almost everything from the 60's that you would want (even a few songs that I forgot about until I heard them again). Not a lot of "filler" like some of these sets include. Add a Motown set and you are ready for a blast from the past! Packaging is very cool!

Worth every penny!
I knew I had something when my brothers told me this was probably a bunch of the garbage music from the late 60's early 70's until I started to read off some of the songs included. They were so impressed, one of my brothers took it with him on a fishing trip with his buddies from high school - class of 71. Now, if I can only get it back from him....

The 60's revisited
Have you ever tried to guess a book or album by looking at it's cover? With 'Flower Power' you might succeed. Both the title and psychedelic cover sends you to the 60-70's.For his homage to one of the most interesting periods in music, Aldo Romano enrolled two of the hottest names on the French music scene-bassist Remi Vignolo and pianist Baptiste Trotignon.Aldo Romano chose for this project an eclectic selection of pop(francais) and rock songs, from Gainsbourg's 'Je t'aime moi non plus', through Dylan's 'Mr Tambourine Man' and Wyatt's 'Sea Song' to Zeppelin's 'Black Dog'.The three virtuoso don't just revisit these songs, they offer us their own acoustic jazz interpretation of these eternal "standards".Full of energy, grooving and highly entertaining.
