While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written true/false historical crime mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make great crime mystery movie, or mini TV series. I liked this because I grew up listening to Dowop (auccappelo, 4 part harmony), Soul & R& B. Still do. There is no doubt in my mind this is a very easy rating of 5 stars.Thank you for the free Goodreads; Akashic books paperback bookTony Parsons MSW (Washburn)

R&B rapper High Fidelity noir thriller!
Best description: R&B rapper High Fidelity noir thriller, and I loved it. Nelson George's professional bodyguard D Hunter is on the job protecting rapper Asya Roc at an underground fight club in Brooklyn. But the rapper has arranged to buy some illegal guns; an old acquaintance named Ice is the courier; a robbery is attempted, a shoot-out follows. Who were the gunmen? Why did they want those guns? And who was being set up - the rapper or the Ice? D tries to figure all of this out and, at the same time, to track down the rarest soul music single ever recorded. The voice of this book is very real, and the whole mood of the book is an R&B rapper High Fidelity noir thriller, and I loved it. Nelson George, knows his music: a former editor for Billboard Magazine, columnist for the Village Voice, R&B, currently co-executive producer of VH1's Hip Hop Honors and executive producer of BET's American Gangster. He also knows Brooklyn. The Lost Treasures of R&B is the third in the D Hunter series: the other two are The Accidental Hunter, The Plot Against Hip-Hop: A Novel.

but was disappointed. On the upside
VERY so-so book! Was looking forward to it, but was disappointed. On the upside, it's short, so a very quick read!

A Good Thriller
This is a fast paced thriller that is an easy read at only 187 pages. The characters are well written, likable. and you will want to read it in one sitting. This is my first Nelson George book and I was very pleased with it. I received this from LibraryThing Early Reviewer for an honest review.
