Flight School: How to Fly a Plane Step by Step

Most of the material is solid, simply put, and written in a style attractive to preteens. However, as a professional flight and ground instructor (CFII, AGI) I found several inaccuracies and vocabulary issues - some of it because the author appears to be British. I'd recommend running this book by an experienced pilot or instructor if the reader is serious about flying.

Bought this as a fun gift for my daughter who is a student pilot. This has lots of good basic information that will inspire kids interested in flight!

My grandson has bern fascinated with airplanes since his first flight at age 2. This is the first information book ( non story) I have bought for him. He LOVES it.Together we are learning so much about airplanes, being a pilot and flight. Would I buy it again? Affirmative

My five year old has wanted to be a pilot for years, and this book is amazing -- great photos, great layout, and so much information about what it means to actually fly a plane. The first 15? 20? times through I was impressed, but we still read it ALL THE TIME... gracious.My kid is still going on all the facts, vocab, pictures, and history. The drag/lift section is confusingly technical, but we puzzle over it together and figure it out. He loves all of the specifics and quotes them back to me.

Great illustrations and simple explanations.

The is an awesome book. It's full of great information, features, and photos. My husband read it to our 5 year old over the course of several nights.

My 8 year old budding pilot adores reading this. It’s very factual and educational.

A super little book that manages to be fun as well as very informative. I bought it for a friend who'd been given a flying lesson for her birthday and reading this book made her feel much more in control. A fantastic, must-have book for anyone who is interested in learning to fly and who wants an accessible, enjoyable read before take off!
