Fits nicely in the hand. I tested it out on some scrap wood and based on the results, this would have absolutely zero problem doing a lot of damage to a living creature, if the unfortunate day ever comes when you need to defend yourself. The aluminum is light and feels fairly indestructible.HOWEVER, the spikes don't screw in very well. They come loose and fall right out. That means this product is fairly useless "out of the box."You can remedy this with Loc-Tite or some other threadlocker of your choice. This product gets a recommendation from me but ONLY if you're going to apply some Loc-Tite.

Purchased for a friend and they were perfect, you can take anywhere and they are relatively inconspicous so you generally wont have any issues if you keep it in your pocket or conceiled on your person for that perfect moment where your outmatched.

This is a great self defense keychain. It seems like its better designed for raking, slashing and stabbing. Easy to hold in a good defensive grip. Its large enough to make a difference and is probably best stored in a purse.I have purchased this several times for college bound kids as a reminder to be careful and be aware of your surroundings. Do not try to carry on a plane as this is obviously a weapon.

As the other reviews have said, the two smaller rods do detach so you will want to check those frequently to make sure they're tight or do something about that. These are great otherwise! My daughter said hers was "pointier" than her last one.

I really wanted to love this product but the little side pieces that screw in keep falling out. I tighten them before I go out every day but even just in a half hour walk with this product on a key chain I lost 1 of the pieces. I glued the other in but so far it has managed to screw off again. Does not make me feel safe when carrying it, as when I go to grab it two thirds of the weapon have disappeared somewhere along my walk. Would not recommend or buy again.

I love these defensive key chains. I hike and run solo and this gives me a feeling of security. I bought a second set for my friend who often hikes alone to scout for locations to photograph

It’s very lightweight. I had to glue the spikes so that they don’t unscrew by themselves. That’s why I do not give 5 stars. Other that that, it’s Ok.
