This droll molcajete is a must-have kitchen gadget for Mexican cuisine including salsa, molé sauces and serving as avocado smasher. Each piece is unique, and a beautiful display item for the kitchen, too. Hand-wash. Handmade in Mexico. Please note that Molcajetes need to be cured before use, specially for the first time. Curing is a process of preparing the molcajete for daily use. Just like seasoning a cast iron skillet, or softening up a new baseball glove, anyone who uses a molcajete has to spend time "breaking it in" before you use it for your favorite salsa recipe.
