TOTES is the best! Great umbrella, great customer service
I have bought only TOTES umbrellas for many years. This is a LARGE umbrella, enough room for 2 people, and is very well made. Plus it's a great price. I didn't pay attention if the weight was listed. My purpose is to take my new puppy out in the rain, which of course she hates. The large size would keep her mostly dry if she stays near me, but it is a bit heavy while also trying to hold her leash and a flashlight. I attempted to return it, and they said keep it and refunded the money. I will give it to my son-in-law who is a bigger man, and I'll get a lighter, foldable one from the same company. Thank you, Totes!

Large Canopy, Auto Opening, Lifetime Guarantee
Tote’s Auto-opening Large Canopy UmbrellaPros: (1) The canopy is nice and large; (2) it opens with the push of a button; (3) it closes up to an easy carry size; (4) it’s lightweight; (5) the handle is rubberized and comfortable; (6) it’s wind resistance; (7) it comes with a Tote’s lifetime replacement guarantee.Cons: (1) It doesn’t auto-close; (2) it’s relatively expensive, compared to other brands with similar features. Here’s what I like best about Tote’s umbrellas: when they advertise “lifetime guarantee,” they really mean it. Several years ago, my wife purchased a Tote’s, large, golf-sized, umbrella. It survived a lot of use, before one of the metal ribs broke. I contacted Tote’s, who instructed me to cut a portion of the velcro strap off, and send them the attached label containing the umbrella model number, along with $5.A couple weeks later, I received a compact replacement umbrella that was much smaller than the one it was replacing. I re-contacted Tote’s and they sent me a larger replacement umbrella at no additional charge. Now, that’s what I call a great lifetime guarantee. If you find my review helpful, please let me know; it makes this old-timer feel useful.

Great Umbrella
This is my second one. It's very sturdy, has the slit for wind in the top, and has a great size canopy for heavy rain especially when it's windy and blowing in at an angle. Some people like small petite umbrellas. This is not. This is like carrying around a cane. I like it that way. If I'm carrying an umbrella, I want something reliable, not flimsy junk.

Good value, no major complaints.
My GustBuster broke and while I wanted to buy another, there seemed to be too many reviews talking about shoddy construction, especially for a $40-$50 umbrella. Went with Totes because they seem to know umbrellas and so far no complaints. Good construction with a a right sized canopy that will shield at least two adults from rain. Wasn't sure if I'd like the soft grip but it provides a somewhat slip free surface to hold the umbrella. Good value if you are looking for a vented larger sized umbrella. Auto open is a big plus but be aware it's a manual close.

Replaced a similar16 year old Totes umbrella
I bought a totes umbrella 16 years ago. I still use it and this year I noticed that parts of it were starting to break a little bit. I figured that since this umbrella lasted 16 years I would look for something similar and bought this totes umbrella. It seems like they have improved on the design and it is very sturdy and extremely similar to the one I bought 16 years ago. Let's hope for another 16 years out of this one also.

Spent 12 hours researching umbrellas... DON'T BE LIKE ME.
Seriously, I hate umbrellas and I wanted this purchase to be the last one ever. I even got into a fight with my wife when I tried to spend $130.00 for a "top tier" umbrella. She won, and I am thankful.Bottom line is, the ultimate umbrella doesn't exist, so you might as well buy this one. Its pretty good.If you think I'm wrong, think again. I've spent literal hours reading articles, blogs, and over a hundred reviews. I've thoroughly researched shedrains, weathermans, gustbusters, daveks, sunmoutains, and blunt umbrellas to name a few. I am basically an umbrella expert, and I believe me I don't say that with pride.Basically, the design itself is flawed. Think about it: Dozens of tiny moving parts crammed into a small space, connected only by thin fabric and used exclusively in harsh weather... it's literally a recipe for failure. You can't go offroading with a toy truck, you can't hunt fish with a water pistol, and unfortunately an umbrella can't bethe permanent, folding shelter from the rain that we all hoped it would be.Sorry to rain on your hopes and dreams, but buying this totes umbrella is the best decision you can make. Trust me.

Auto open not close.
I love totes, I purchased this larger one to keep in the car. It has a great size for family. Very strong/ sturdy. The material does drip the water all over. The price was amazing, such a deal. This brand has a lifetime warranty they truly honor, this is the reason I purchase always.Just to keep in mind , it auto opens with buttons but does not close. I would have loved it did both to not have to use two hands.

super
So far, so good. We were under a high wind advisory the other day. I opened it up and pointed it directly down wind. The top flap popped up and allowed the wind to pass through without tearing it apart. The neighbors probably thought I was nuts opening a giant umbrella and pointing it sideways in the wind with no rain...I also took it to a soccer game and used it as I watched from the stands. It was big enough to cover me and provide good shade. I have yet to use it in the rain, but will update my review if I change my mind.I like the easy open spring. You just press the button and it slides open. It is a bit heavy, but not so much that you'd have trouble with it, but you can tell it's made solidly.
