A very good bore sight!
I am very happy with the bore sight, It put me on the target bull at 100 yards, two clicks up and one click right and it was dead center BULLS-EYE!! Great part and you just can't beat the price!

Seemed brighter than the .223
I bought two, one for an AR and one for my Mosin. The one for my Mosin seems brighter. (this one) I set up my scopes last night at 25 yards... I had measured from the back window to a post I put up in the back yard. It was sometimes hard to see the AR but the Mosin was very easy to see and when I was at the range today I zeroed both scopes at 100 yards with less than five rounds each. With ammo being as scarce as it is, this was well worth the money for both of them. They both use the same batteries so I only used the one set. I did the .223 first so the batteries were at their max and the 7.62x54r was still brighter. I am just going to copy paste this for the .223 version since it explains both.

Great price....but
This Bore Sight has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Out of the box the laser will work, once you move it the laser starts to go off and on. The reason is the small spring in the twist on cap... it's too short or not strong to push the batteries in tight. If you take the cap off and lightly pull the spring out some you can get it tighter to get the batteries from moving anymore. Once that is done the laser works great. Someone at the factory should see this poor quality of a spring and fit it, that would make this product 5 stars.

Not too pleased
Battery life lasted about 2 minutes & the rubber washer inside of the bore sight above the laser was installed crooked. Sad thing about the batteries is that I was as careful as possible. Kept the back off & even had them out of the bore sight until I started the zeroing process. Maybe I just got a defective one.

you may need to tap it on a hard surface
While the idea of laser technology makes us think we are in the 21st Century, the laser alignment of the unit I received required that I apply stone age physics to it in order to try to center the laser beam within the casing ID... an approximation process on which I am still trying to improve. My guess is that buyers will find these tools hit or miss on their internal, factory-set alignment. Do NOT make the same mistake I did, i.e. do NOT throw away your packaging until after you are 100% satisfied with how your unit performs. The first test out of the package (once batteries are installed and the laser is lit) should be to place the unit on a flat surface and gently roll it so that it describes a circle or portion thereof. You might notice that the laser seems to wobble as it rolls, which may or may not mean that the laser itself is off center. Double-check your suspicions by holding the unit facing partially toward you (but do NOT look into the laser!!). Holding the unit at an angle partially toward you, slowly turn the whole thing around its longitudinal axis as you watch the ID to see if the laser light uniformly reflects off the ID wall of the unit. IF the laser light seems dull as reflects off the ID wall, then your unit is probably centered fairly uniformly. IF, on the other hand, you see the laser light seem to get duller and brighter as you rotate the unit around that axis, then it is almost guaranteed that the laser is NOT centered within the ID of that piece in your hand. Trying to center a defective unit can damage it, so send back the bad ones.If you're not fussy whether it works right the first time, out of the package, then you'll love the game of seeing whether it works right.

Worked flawlessly
I marked this with a magic marker at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00 so I could rotate it in the chamber to 4 different positions. At 50 yards the spot was within 1" of dead center from any clock position in the chamber. Can't get much better than that. Now if only my hands were steady I could hit something!

You get what you pay for--kinda.
Super poor quality. The laser pulses on and off. It is extremely apparent that the internal workings of the laser assembly is SUB-PAR. The laser only comes on if you wiggle/tap the item. Other times, it just decides to come on, on its own- perhaps the Coriolis effect? Cheaply made, unreliable, but shipping was fast.

Inexpensive, good value.
Used on a 28" barrel Mosin Nagant. The cartridge seated snugly in the bore and the beam appeared well centered at the barrel exit. Zeroed a scope at about 50 yards then rotated the module 90 degrees and checked again, still centered almost perfectly. No need to remove the batteries for temporary storage, just back the cap off a bit to break contact. No name Chinese part but it works!
