This book should be used as a primer for all designers working to support watershed level design. It outlines very useful concepts to support watershed scale sustainable design.

Very good book for Geodesign
Since ESRI has released 90% of the material on Geodesign (this book is technically from ESRI press, too), it is refreshing to see Geodesign explained instead of reading another PR booklet from ESRI. It is a good jumping off point for reasearch into Geodesign, Planning, or Geovisualization.

Overview of how design can address issues of societal importance
I used this book as one of the sixteen texts examined from American scholars who conceptually accompanied me during a recent project of narrative scholarship: “Waymarking Italy's Influence on the American Environmental Imagination While on Pilgrimage to Assisi” (2020). As I wrote, the book " blends the science of geography with methods of design for environments undergoing change. In the face of dramatic global alterations there is a need for a unifying methodology and vocabulary that is accessible to the interdisciplinary teams engaged in grappling with such challenges...For Steinitz, a strength of geodesgn is its specific focus on the visualization of the generated future projections, such that decision-makers as well as the public can easily compare and contrast before and after conditions." And in one particularly useful section, Steinitz discusses using geodesign for design education as a simulation of real-world practice. A much needed approach in how to apply design to complex problems.

Carl Steinitz, at last the ideas in one book together
after several lectures, I finally find the guidelines for teaching collected in one book, nice graphics which make the content very understandable, a great book from a great teacher
