How do I install Tomato (by Shibby) on this router?

I can't believe this router is still available. I would recommend Freshtomato now, Shibby Tomato project is dead, no updates since 2017. I have not installed on a "new" one, only V1 and V2. No idea what version this one is.

So the specs state that this model does not have a USB port. But the picture clearly shows a USB port. Can you attach an HDD to the USB port?

I just purchased this router (E2500) and I assure you it comes with a USB plug and it works with external hard drives. I currently have my seagate free agent 300 MB hard drive plugged directly into it. It is mapped to my computer and my wife's computer under the U drive. I have transfered files to the hard drive and downloaded from the hard drive. The Linksys Connect utility allows you to search your router for connected devices.This confuses me because the instructions on the box say this feature is not supported, but I assure you it is.

How does this compare to the e 1200?

I honestly can't answer your ? It was recommended by our computer guy as the best for our situation. We have cable & pull almost 30 Mbps.
