The Far Side®

Gary Larson gets all the stars. Classic single-panel comic strip that is hilariously absurd, and disturbingly witty; awkward, oddball humor that is at times both confusing and profound. I grew in the 1990s borrowing these books again and again from my city library. Many Millenials and younger Gen Xers will probably remember them from teachers' classroom book collections and waiting room coffee tables, if nowhere else. I've spent the last couple years hunting down all the original books and their "gallery" collections, and now have a complete collection that I display proudly alongside my complete collection of Calvin & Hobbes (another childhood staple). Some may find The Far Side stupid or unfunny, but 1) The subtle humor is just going over their heads, and 2) You had to be there back in the 1990s to fully understand.

I bought it for a friend with health scare. It helped her keep her perspective and got through it all ok.

The Far Side cartoons are classics. This made an excellent gift for someone who loves Gary Larson and these odd, but hilarious jokes. The book was in good condition and unmarked. It was delivered quickly. Quality and timeliness as expected.

This particular book was copyrighted in 1982, so I bought it as a gift for my son who was born in 1982. It got a big smile and a thank you. He also thought it would be fun to see what was funny the year he was born. If you were ever a fan, you will enjoy this.
