Can this be used on African American natural short hair?

It’s a nice brush and gentle on my fine, slightly curly hair but doesn’t straighten it as well as I’d like.

Curious - would this work well for men's hair - short?

It's a styling brush, not a hairbrush. If a short-haired guy is not going to use it while blow-drying his hair, he's better off with a flat hairbrush.

what size is reccomended for fine short hair to add body and some curl so hair isn't flat on your head ?

I have fine, shorter hair and the mid-large barrel pictured gives me body and lift.
