modded for RHD CHEROKEE.. think about throwing away $200 if you trash it
i could not find an upgrade for the stock radiator so i modded this radiator to work on 1996 RIGHT HAND DRIVE cherokee, this is a well made quality radiator.no major issues getting it to work in RHD, changing the plumbing for auto trans was just a matter of getting 3/8 trans hose and some barb fittings..... i did have to ..carefully..bend the bottom connector tube up a few degrees as the fan shroud and fan is in the way, then i re-soldered around the fitting where it is crimped to tankthe fan shroud lower tabs are in a diff place, with the help of an angle grinder and zip ties it is secure, i did cut away some of the middle tab so shroud would fit close to radiator.. i didn't cut either tab completely, i used them, though not as designedtabs are spot welded on, i could have ground the welds then reattached tabs in diff place, what i did was quicker and a good fixthen i took some roof flashing and extended the air tunnel out 2 in. so now the fan IN an air tunnelchanging the old one and making the new one work took about 7 hours, but it looks pro and should work well

Can't be beat for the price.
Here's the short of it - the first one came damaged, seller replaced it quickly, and the second one showed up in one piece. I was initially disappointed that this is a copper radiator instead of aluminum, but after installing in I am impressed! I had an aluminum radiator in my jeep before this one and this one works every bit as good, maybe even better. People say that aluminum cools better but it's not true. Aluminum is also weaker than copper and the cooling ability of a radiator largely depends on the number of rows and size of the passages. I have had this radiator in my jeep all summer long and I can tell you that idling in traffic with the AC on and 100 degrees outside, my jeep did not overheat. You can pay $600 for an aluminum flex-a-lite radiator and it will perform the same as this one. You can't beat the performance for the price! Very happy customer here!

Purchased this to replace an OEM one my XJ. The installation worked pretty well, only issues was trying to get the mechanical fan shroud back on because of clearance issues with it being a thicker radiator. In 75 deg weather cruising around town and on the freeway I saw temps averaging from 212 deg (normal for XJ) to 228 deg. With my aluminum single core/plastic tank radiator the hottest I ever saw it get was 220deg when towing a trailer uphill in 90+deg weather. The construction of the radiator looks more durable, but having temperatures this high makes it not worth it to me. For the price I should have just purchased another single core aluminum one.

Not as good as it could be
I bought this radiator as an upgrade for the stock unit in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Everything about it was as I expected (build quality, packaging, delivery) and installation was straight forward. I didn't have any problems until I drove the Jeep for a while. That's when the (brand new) radiator cap started leaking. I figured it was a bad unit, exchanged it at Autozone, reinstalled it and drove on. It too leaked. I then installed a third cap (from a local auto shop) and it was fine until I removed it to check fluid level. After reinstalling it, it started leaking. I emailed both the distributor and the manufacturer about the issue and asked if there was a specific brand of cap guaranteed to work. The manufacturer said I should check with the distributor. The distributor said I should take it to a radiator shop for evaluation. It sounds like they don't really support their product once it leave their warehouse. Instead of replacing the cap again I used pliers to slightly crimp the ears on the cap in hope it would seal a bit tighter. So far that's working.I gave the product four stars because it seems to work as expected (other than the cap). Since installation I've monitored the coolant temp with the Jeep's temperature gauge and with an OBDII reader in real time. Coolant temp stays about four to eight degrees cooler than the stock unit. That may not seem like a lot but when it's 100+ for days at a time (Las Vegas) anything that reduces engine temperature is welcome.

Great product! Damaged during shipping.
Awesome radiator but had to realign the filler neck and cap mating surface due to it being bent during shipping. Leaked from filler cap for two days until I finally got the surface square. Would have sent back but did not have time to wait nor did I want to pay shipping.

All steel construction!
Fits as good as the factory radiator.Pros:- All steel- Factory like fitCons:- No cap!I had one of these radiators in a 2000 Wrangler and it lasted for 7 years than the passenger side mounting bracket broke and it started to leak. Jeep never overheated because I had the 3 row. Easy fix just had it welded back on.

What a waste of $200 :(
Radiator is so thick that it got torn into by the fan clutch. It was damaged beyond repair and had to be replaced. All in all very disappointed with the product. Despite the 3-rows it did not cool as well as the stock radiator with plastic tanks. The stock 1998 XJ "heavy duty" rad is all Aluminum with extra large passages. Despite being a "single row", it actually has more effective surface area, and is (almost) as thick as these all-copper radiators.

FITS 91-97 XJ Cherokee 4.0 Liter with AC Also!
I called CSF and this is the superceded part number for the 91-97 ALL METAL 3 row radiators. You might have to carefully remove 2 small brackets but it drops rights and works fantastic! The crappy metal wingnut petcock drain that often leaks is replaced with a newer style plastic wing and rubber seal.As Always: MAKE SURE you have that special tool for late model fuel line quick disconencts to remove the transmission cooling line! You can thank me later. Enjoy! Highly Recommended!
