Great pots with some clear design faults.
Listen as a saucepan this pot, and indeed the whole 6000 range are nothing short of superb. We have had various pots and pans for over 4 years to date and there are all, without exception, all just as good today as when they were purchased. This is a big pot. Internally the size being approx 24x17cm..With say 5litres of food cooking this can turn into a heavy pot. Bought initially because they can be washed in the dishwasher, this whole 6000 range has been slowly added too throughout the years whilst our older aluminum pots etc., have all been discarded. Yes well worth the outlay so why then only 4 stars? There are 3 problems, we feel, with this pot and some other pots in this range, and yes I accept that they can (only very periodically in our case) be placed for cooking inside an oven.1) The side handles get very hot as there is no protection on the steel handles at all. Ok it that can be overcome but they can get very hot.2) The s/steel lid have no vent holes in it whatsoever so therefore steam has a problem getting out. Yes they are for simmering hotpots, stews etc., but inevitably you use these pans for other forms of cooking, ie: potatoes and so on. With the lid down the water tends to boil over quite quickly. For us this is the major bugbear. The steam just cannot get out and the steel lids more than likely just keep sliding off when you place them at some sort of angle to release the steam/pressure. Major fault here we feel. The unprotected lid gets very hot.3) Finally there is no facility to remove boiling liquid from any drainage spout on this pot.So imagine, you have very hot side handles, a very hot steel lid and you are trying to drain boiling water into the sink which in turn can be quite heavy. Its just bad news all around I'm afraid. Yes we know its a stew pot but if we all had a different pot for each chore then we would be left with no kitchen space at all would we!In conclusion Stellar has probably been the best pots and pans that we have ever owned but it would appear that each item has been designed with a single purpose in mind, This particular large pot could be construed as dangerous if you have anything less than strong hands, strong wrists and a good grip. All IMHO of coarse.

Faultless
Great product, love the 6000 series. As a few comments say, yes the handles get hot, but as long as you know about that, the product is faultless

A proper cook's pot
I have previously purchased Stellar products and have urged other purchasers to do so as well. These pots and pans are definitely worth the extra cost - they are a dream to cook with - sturdy and well made. The anodised finish makes them perfect for even heat distribution. Please try - you will not be disappointed.

EXACTLY AS STATED
A superb, deep cooking pot, perfect for slow cooking my curries and chillies. It heats evenly, is relatively light and cleans very easily, as it does not cause the food to burn. Highly recommended.

Useful bit of kit, and good-looking with it.
I bought one of these recently, because I like making chilli and dal and big soups and I wanted something with high sides so I don't have to worry about things boiling over (I don't like standing over a hot stove watching pots!). It's a solid, good looking beast with charcoal sides (almost like slate in the finish), a mirror-shiny lid and a neat little detail with the logo in the underside of the handle that amuses me every time I see it! It's also a nice weight, solid but not heavy when empty. I like Stellar pans generally, though my older Stellar pans are stainless steel inside and out - I've had them for about 20 years: they were expensive but survived a student house and are still going strong. I haven't had this new pan long enough to find out how long the non-stick interior lasts, though I do use it a lot and it seems to be wearing well so far.
