Exciting and absorbing adventure.
Original storyline. Relationships and characters explored in depth with the he/she perspective. Mind romping theme with vivid likable characters and good surprises thrown in along the way. The disturbing red flags she ignores and the self preservation he maintains make it interesting. You will want to turn just a few more pages to see what else will happen. He's enjoying the challenge to exist, while always on the alert in this action packed plot. So, yes, it is a good book. You'll want to read more about this family and their deeply disturbed personalities. Makes me want to travel to these places to enjoy the scenery, but I would avoid meeting up with some of them.

Not a perfect story but a good one
The Alignment is a rich story with interesting, well-developed characters set in a twisty plot that will keep you reading. The dialogue is natural and fun to read, but I found the first person present POV annoying. As good as the story is, I think it would be a hundred times better told in third person. The feeling of following people around while they narrate their life as it happens really gives it a weird feeling. I did get used to it toward the end, but it never quite lost the awkward feeling. This is a romance, but for some reason the romantic sparks misfired. I'm not sure why. There is lots of what is supposed to be sexual tension, but it seems to fall flat. Maybe because there is very little description leading up to the fade to black. And speaking of description, this brings me to another of my pet peeves--not telling us what the people look like for AGES. If the author doesn't give us descriptions, our brain just makes up something, and then when we finally do get a description, and it doesn't match ours, it takes us out of the story while we try to adjust the images.I also think the pacing started to misfire toward the end. We are being set up for a war that never really happens. It's all too obvious that there will be a sequel, so that war may still be coming, but each book in a series needs to have a climax and resolution. I couldn't really tell where the climax was supposed to be. The big confrontation was over so fast and then I kept expecting something more. Instead we got chapters of exposition and then the book actually ends with a cliff hanger. That, to me, was extremely annoying and unsatisfying. There are quite a few F-Bombs, but it's not overdone, and they do seem to be in line with the character. The fact that I'm still giving it 4 stars despite these criticisms says a lot about the strength of the story. It's still very worth reading.

Interesting book
Some parts are pretty cryptic but still all in all it’s a good and interesting book, I liked the characters and the plot after I figured out the changes in narration.

Paranormal romance
This is a rather lengthy book with plenty of action and mystery. Hopefully the second book in this series will tie up mysteries surrounding Liv 's past. A unique story.

The best book series I've read in a long time
Should have written a review a long time ago... This is my third time reading this book, so obviously I love it! Book 4 just came out so I was trying to have all the events leading up to it fresh in my mind, but I might have to skip ahead because I can't wait to see what happens next! I had no idea what to expect when I started reading this series, my sister had given it to me and told me I would enjoy it. Well she was right! Awesome book, I won't give any details about the book, don't want to give anything away! But I love reading! So from one reader to another I would highly suggest this!

Enjoyable but frustrating
The book moved fast enough to keep my attention and well enough written to keep me guessing about what was going to happen. I was not overly fond of the jumping from one point of view to the other. It did slow me down and cause me to back track a few times because I felt I had missed something.I was not happy with the way the book ended. I am not fond of cliff hangers. The climatic confrontation was more a comedy of errors or a lack of action than the climax to the story. The end of the book had way too many twists and turns with unexpected side characters thrown in. Hopefully, the author will tie up some of the loose ends and give more of the back story so that the story becomes unified.Overall I enjoyed the book and will be looking for the second one in the series.

It had me from the start
Kay Camden had me from the opening paragraphs. She knows how to tell a good story and this is one of my favorite types of books because if you don't finish it in one sitting you know it's waiting for you and you can't wait to get back to it. It was offered for free on Amazon and I am heading off now to purchase the next book in the series.

Could not love this book more!
The blurb does NOTHING to actually portray this book's crazy plot twists and white-knuckle thrills. LOVE Trey's character! Makes me think of a modern day Mr. Rochester...with a twist. Liv is one of the very few female protagonists I've ever enjoyed reading. Normally, females read as ingratiating and pouty wimps. Liv is kick ass! And so witty! I'm on to the next book to see what happens!

Enjoyable read
I bought this when it was still free, along with loads of others. By the time I started reading it I had forgotten what it was about but I was immediately gripped and couldnt put it down. I dont usually like first person stories but this alternated between both main characters and I think it added a dimension. The "supernatural" element didnt really kick in until half way through and is still very subtle. The romance between the characters is fairly innocent which makes a nice change. All too often the story is taken over by the characters relationship with each other. Fine if its a romance book but not otherwise! All in all I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to reading the next installment.
