Malabrigo Rios 208 Camel Worsted Yarn

Love this yarn but had to give this less than 5 stars because the skein was less than 100g. I am finding that to be a consistant problem with Rios. One skein was only 93g so if 100g equals 210yds, 1g equals 2.1yd and a shortage of 7g is a shortage of 14.7yds.

The colors in Malabrigo Arroyo are incredible! Be sure to use a wool wash such as Eucalynn or the colors will lose their intensity. (I handwashed some items in Woolite Delicate and they faded. ) And of course, use cold water. This is a soft cushy wool. The Arroyo is a finer grist than the Rios, but both come in a huge variety of colors. I find I can't browse through photos of available colors or I give in to temptation and order more; I already have a huge yarn stash that is threatening to take over the house.

Received 3 hanks of malabrigo Rios 886 Diana. I think the colors are closer to Aniversario than the color shown for 886 Diana. My hanks are more deep pinks and purples, little bit of greens, touch of yellow and orange. The picture shown looks more greens, little lavender, and a little bit of orange. The hanks I received are pretty, it just is not the color I was expecting.

Beautiful yarn. I’m worried it won’t block well because it’s a super wash but we’ll see. I’d say it looks slightly darker than in the photos. Slight varigation in color—subtle and gorgeous. For some reason I thought it would be a single when I ordered it but it’s two ply.

I am very pleased with the yarn I received. It was exactly what I was looking for to complete a project but had been unable to find in stores. I appreciate how it was wrapped in paper, rather than an additional plastic bag. I was surprised to find a sweet hand written note inside. Very personalized experience.

WONDERFUL YARN... wonderful true colors! The blue is amazing. It’s a little softer in texture than the other colors. This happens with different dye colors sometimes.
