Wintergreen Lozenge Candy, Bulk, 16 oz

I can't find these lozenges anywhere anymore grocery store mini Mart Big box store or whatever they just aren't there. These winter greens are even better than when I enjoyed them years and years ago. Same texture same flavor but they are a little bit smaller which is perfect because I used to buy them in half and eat half at a time anyway. Delicious 😋

I love chocolate but I am allergic to it so I have been trying to find something else and these are great. The flavor is intense which I really like.

I bought these for my roommate after she said she loved them when she was younger but hadn't seen them in years. She told me they tasted just as she remembered.

I was wary of getting "non-brand-name" Canada mints at first, but these had perfect texture and freshness. The price is a bit high, but the quality of the product is excellent.

Overall, a good purchase. Those of you craving wintergreen candy that isn't hard like life savers will love these. They don't have that metallic taste that life savers do. These have a smoother flavor without losing any of the intensity I love from my wintergreen mints. I almost want to say these have a hint of Banana in it. Whatever it is, its incredibly subtle. I doubt most people would even notice it. I only do because I'm pretty particular about my mint candy. Now for the nitpicks. I wish they could be cheaper. This is not a comment on the seller, but rather a comment on the overall market for these. A couple years ago pretty much everyone was selling these for something like 5 or 6 dollars for a 12 ounce bag. Then Necco went defunct, and these vanished. Now that they are back, it seems people are just willing to pay a much higher price for them. The end result is that while I feel like the seller gave me a decent price when compared to all the other sellers, I think these will stay a rarity for me. :( For this particular seller, the bag used was a basic, non-resealable plastic tube, and had a lot of air in it. Why they chose to use such a large bag, I don't know, but the end result was that some of the candy was hard. Not as hard as life savers are, but still enough I had to work them a bit. Some people probably love that, but I personally like them soft. Ultimately this isn't a major issue, but it still reduced my satisfaction a bit. The end result is I wasn't as happy as I could have been, but I am happy with what I got. They are definitely the wintergreen mints that Necco made, and that I have always loved, so I can put up with some hard candy among the bunch.

I used to buy them in about any store you went in. Now you can find them. When my kids was young they would gag on pepto- bismol. Then I told them it tasted like my favorite candy, they never rejected that medication again, and no more gagging.

These are nostalgic candies. I used to love these kind - but made by a different company. Necco maybe? In any case, the flavor is close. The color is darker - and changes my tongue dark red - which didn't happen with the other brand. My biggest issue is packaging. The candies are in a plastic bag - but the bags were all damaged. They had multiple small holes in them. Maybe that's what caused some of the candies to become really hard. Either the handling is way too rough - or they should consider changing the packaging.

Not something we are able to find in our local stores, so an Amazon order is the only way we can find these. The wintergreen flavor is refreshing,
