I want to know how to plug it in. The outlet is for basic straight plugs but this thing comes with slanted plugs. What kind of thing is this?

You have to use the attachment to connect to the slanted plug then plug it in the regular wall. One its plugged in its arkward looking sticking out the wall. I opt to purchase a separate regular plug.

The plug at the back where the cord goes in does not work now, have to turn the plug around to get it to charge or play. What to do?

looks like 2 possibilities, either the adapter is not working anymore or the jack from the charger is damaged due to wear and tear... Try fixing/replacing the jack or buy from Amazon a new adapter.... Hope this helps...

Does the dock fit the larger plug in on the I touch

Yes, you can get Apple's 30-pin to Lightning adapter. You can find it on Amazon pretty cheap. This will allow you to use your 7th generation iPod Nano with the speakers' 30-pin connector. This is what I use for my iPhone
