I own two R26F floorstanding speakers. Please explain "break in period" for speakers.

3 things I've noticed about speaker break in 1 the sound tends to improve the longer you've been using them 2 warm up a new pair of speakers by listening at 50% for a while before hammering them 3 you won't really know what you have until you turn them up louder than you normally would and turn them back down. This last one maybe true or for smaller speakers than larger speakers but I've seen some speakers improved dramatically just from being exercise like this good luck

Can someone tell me the difference in sound quality and max volume between these r26f's and the r24f's? how many db's at max rated power?

Thanks for your question. The 26 is a significantly richer sounding speaker than the 24. The 26 plays noticebly louder than the 24. The manufacturer published only the traditional sensitivity measurement as 97dB @ 2.83V / 1m. World Wide Stereo is 37 years old and a very proud Klipsch dealer.

Is this $349 for a pair or one?

Price is for one. Check other sellers and their prices. You will find lower prices. Lowest one is $279 per speaker.

How about the r28f? is it worth the added cost to upgrade from the r26f?

I had a chance to listen to both at a local retailer and decided to go with the r26f, but I also purchased the r12sw subwoofer for lows. The r28f does have a noticeable more noticeable thump when compared to the r26f, but ultimately I think the decision would be based on your overall setup.
