This disappointment had nothing to do with any moisture
This product was well-received by our 14 pound dog who now rides in comfort in an ideal elevated spot in the backseat of our crossover. It is smartly designed with appropriate covers on all surfaces EXCEPT for the bottom, which is bare foam padding. The manufacturer needs to cover the entire base in similar fashion to the sides and back. REASON: The foam padding reacts with leather upholstery and permanently adheres to the car seat, ruining its finish and appearance. This disappointment had nothing to do with any moisture, chemicals or hot weather as it occurred in mild southern California winter weeks during which the vehicle was garaged. We returned this item, exchanged it for another one but use a bath towel to buffer its bottom from the seat, obviously a less than desired appearance. We hope an effective fix is in the works.

Help for sizing. 58 lb English Bulldog-plenty of room!
I'm giving this 5 stars because my guy loves it...and it's not even in the car yet. He'd just had surgery when it arrived, so no car rides yet-but he loves his personal sofa that he sits in to look out the front window! My main reason for writing this is I had a terrible time debating size and whether my 58 lb bulldog would fit. I'd assumed he wouldn't be able to lie down in it-wrong! Am going to add photos as those helped me the most. Will update after we actually put it in the car! Hope this helps!

Poor quality for the price...
Preface: I originally purchased the K&H Pet Bucket Booster Seat (small) for my 15 lb Dachshund mix (see pic) and loved everything about it...other than the actual "boost" she got. The seat itself only raised her about 6" off of the car seat, so in order for her to see out the window she still had to stand on her hind legs with her paws on the windowsill. (Which is was I was trying to avoid.)I've been eyeing the Snoozer seat for awhile now and LOVED the look of the luxury edition. After a few months of trying to justify spending that much money on a dog's "car seat" I bit the bullet and did it. I was expecting the styrofoam body (at the end of the day, it IS for a dog) but for $150+ I was pretty shocked at the lack of quality, especially in the details.Overall, this is a decent seat that I'm sure your dog will be happy in. I've written things below that I think are extremely poor quality given how expensive it is, but if it was half the price I don't think the details mentioned below would bother me nearly as much. (So if you continue reading, take that into consideration as you go.)BODY/STRUCTURE...• It's hard to tell from the picture I uploaded, but the entire front of the seat tilts forward. You could probably even it out by putting a towel under the front of the little pillow, but considering you're buying a "luxury" seat, you wouldn't think you'd have to ghetto-rig it.• Sides: They're not flimsy but they're definitely not sturdy. If your dog was to constantly rest it's head on it and the side wasn't supported by an armrest or anything, my guess is that over time they'd start to get floppy.• Drawer: The drawer itself is nice. (It's basically an organizing storage drawer you'd find at Target/Wal-Mart.) The styrofoam underneath the drawer is almost non-existent though (because the front dips so much lower than the back) so when it's in the car and I attempt to pull it out it won't go very far (due to hitting the car seat) unless I lift the booster seat up a little bit.The flap that covers the drawer falls lower than the bottom of the booster seat, so bunches up at the bottom. After looking at it, my guess is that it's actually the right length but because the styrofoam in the front is so squished, the front wall is now "shorter" than it's supposed to be.FABRIC...Kind of feels like if you created a hybrid from felt and suede...that was cheap. It's doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart or anything, but comparing the quality to the fabric on the K&H Booster, I'd say it'd be similar to buying a name brand bath towel vs one from the Dollar Store. (Snoozer fabric being the one from the Dollar Store.)While the fabric is fitted to the styrofoam, it's pretty loose in some places. (You can see this in the picture as well.)STITCHING...One of the seams around the drawer is sewn completely twisted and doesn't lay flat. Not to sound like a broken record, but for $150+, come on!_______________I really want to like this seat but I'm just not sure it's worth the money. For $150+, I don't think it's asking too much for the stitching to be well executed, the styrofoam to be sturdy, the seat to actually be flat, and the "luxury" fabric to actually be more on the luxury end._______________In comparison...The Snoozer has so many great color options, it's higher, and I LOVE the drawer storage! The K&H Booster (which costs half of what the Snoozer does) is a lot sturdier, great quality, and the fabric is exceptional. (The inside is SO soft - almost like a minky fabric - and the outside is a heavier fabric that's easy to wipe off/clean.)I'm contemplating returning the Snoozer and just putting another pillow under the K&H to boost her up a little higher...Anyway, I know some of the things I listed may sound nit-picky, but when you're spending this much money on something like this, sometimes you want those nit-picky details! So hopefully this review will help some of you. :)

WORKS FOR THOSE LARGER DOGS
Planning a trip to Florida at the end of the month and wanted to get something for my dog (large 24lb Cairn Terrier) on the long ride. I stressed over which one to buy, the large or medium. I opted for the large and glad I did. The medium would have been too small.I took it out of the box and sat it on the floor. It's very light because it is nothing but foam. It seemed to tilt a little to the front. I assume this is to make up for the rise in some car seats toward the front so the seat sits level? Training my dog to get in her new bed while in the house, it would flip over in the front when she tried to jump in. So..... I will not be using it in the house for a bed as she has two other beds and it will stay strapped in the car.As the others have written, it is LARGE and takes up 2/3 of the back seat in my Civic. No problem, empty nester here. The cover is nicely made. It is not a safety seat however. So, do not purchase it for that. I attach my dogs harness to the tether bar behind the headrest and it works great. Height of the seat is perfect. She can sit and look out the window or lay down in comfort. She seemed to enjoy her first ride so all is well. There isn't much padding in the area where she is to sleep or sit. You can feel the hardness from the frame that the drawer sits in. For this high price, it should have more padding in the sleeping area. Not really a problem as I've folded a king sheet to place in there which will also help keep her cool because in the summer, the fake lamb cover will probably be hot. Also, with the heavier dog in the bed, the drawer becomes difficult to pull out because of the dogs weight. Again, not a real problem, but in my opinion, it should operate smoothly for the price paid. They could've used a bit more rigid plastic for the drawer frame.Bottom line........Would I buy again? Ummmm, if my dog were smaller.....no. But it's the only thing I could find that would possibly hold a 24lb terrier in comfort..........unless I made one myself. It's a tad overpriced for what you get, but if you don't want to create a DIY booster seat, want something that's looks good in the back seat then you really can't go wrong.AUGUST 2014 UPDATE: After using this seat for 3 months now I wanted to update my review. I've taken several trips with the seat and my dog loves it. It means a lot to know she is snug and comfortable in her seat.

Has held up very well and dog loves it.
I bought this for my 18 pound miniature poodle. Bought a medium to allow him plenty of room to be comfortable on a road trip. He loved it from the moment I unpacked it in the living room. I put in a towel or another piece of sheep skin because Chewie loves to dig a nest and I didn’t want to lose the nice liner. It is extremely easy to install and put in and take out of car. (Don’t forget to unclip the little tie-down strap that attaches to your seat belt when taking the seat out of vehicle - easy to leave behind otherwise). I bought this in 2017 and it still looks brand new so has worn well. The plastic shelf in the bottom gives it a rigid and sturdy floor and is very handy.

Very nice and good size but poor quality workmanship
Absolutely love this booster seat. It’s larger than I expected but it provides more than enough room for my Mini Aussie who’s 38kbs. He can sit and watch outside but can also lay down and snooze. It’s one of my best purchases and I’m so glad I found it here. The price is unmatched. I shoppped around for months before finding this one. Highly recommended. I also love the hidden drawer under the seat.Update: 3 months after using it, the base area split creating a dip in the seat where the dog would lay. I’m extremely disappointed that it didn’t last more than 3 months.

This seat is a Beagle's best friend!
My beagle LOVES this booster seat - it satisfies his need to look out the window without aggravating his hip dysplasia. The large size fits him well (he is 35 lbs), quality built and came exactly as pictured. Harness leash and seat are both easy to install and remove in a snap.I do wish the sides/front were a tad higher to for more security but I realize this product was designed for shorter dogs than him so not the end of the world, more so just FYI for anyone with a taller dog looking to purchase this product.

Great seat, my dog loves it
We and our dog love this car seat. It's really just a big block of foam, covered in a polyester fabric, the inside is faux sherpa, and there is also a little plastic drawer in the front. The seat belt goes through a notch in the back of the seat. It's very basic, but serves the purpose well. It's great for little dogs because it raises them high so they can look outside. My dog loves it, she hops right in as the car door opens. The medium size is quite large - it takes up way more than one car seat. In my Corolla, as well as my parents CX7, you can barely squish two people in the back next to the car seat. If you plan to have two people, even kids, in the back with this seat, then get the small size. The picture for this product is misleading, it actually shows the small size. My dog is an 11-lb mini poodle mix, and she really only needs half the size of this Medium seat, so we'll be getting the Small for her as well, for roadtrips where she needs to share the backseat. There is also a tether that you can use to connect the seatbelt to the dog's harness. (Never connect to a neck collar, only a back-attach harness!) The tether doesn't in any way attach to the car seat, only to the diagonal part of the seatbelt. I didn't like the tether that came with the seat, so I bought a different one. The only negative is that the tether can slide along the seat belt and gives the dog a lot of range of motion. My dog can hop out of the seat even if she's tethered. It's not usually much of an issue, because she quickly realizes why her seat is better, and hops right back in. Overall, I would highly recommend this car seat. The Snoozer I is the same thing, just without the little drawer, so that's a great option at a lower price point.

Perfect Height
This is the perfect height for our little Yorkie to be fastened in, and be able to look out the window. She doesn't have as much anxiety now that she can see out. I love the little hidden drawer for her extras and water bottle. Looks great in the back of our vehicle too.
