Switchcraft 3-Way Short Toggle Switch w/ Genuine Switchcraft Cream Tip

The modern production Fender DuoSonic is known as a solid guitar with one very common complaint - the stock 3-way toggle switch tends to be very unreliable and noisy, even on brand new ones. My 2018 model was no exception. I loved everything about it except that the toggle switch would sometimes not pass any sound/signal in certain positions. Despite the fact that everyone here seems to use these switches on Gibson-style guitars, they work perfectly fine with the 2-pickup configuration on my Fender DuoSonic. I asked a question here before buying these and was told incorrectly that it wouldn't work. I took the risk and it works fine. You will, of course, need to know a little something about guitar wiring and how to solder to install this. I looked at what was there in the stock switch and realized I needed to actually pinch 2 of the terminals together on this switch to match the stock switch configuration. Once I figure it out, I replaced the old switch with this one. Now my DuoSonic works like a charm. I have had zero issues since installing this switch, which is far superior in quality to the old one. I also added replaced the switch tip this one comes with for a chrome one (sold separately) purely for aesthetics, though the tip that comes with this switch looks fine.

If you have a stock three way switch, UP GRADE IT. This switch will not noise up or faze out. I have hammered on it between cords and noted to play with different tones. It is a beast, and it is really easy to install, there are many videos online. From what I pulled out of my Epiphone LP to this is night and day. Solid construction, beefier design and overall functions flawlessly. Word to the Epi LP owners. Get the short shaft that is the one you need. Im not 100% sure the long will work but I pulled out an EPI short and replaced it with a Switch Craft short and haven't had an issue.

Bought this to replace a busted switch on an old Epiphone Les Paul. Installation was super simple with only a few points to solder and it went in like a champ. The switch quality is far and away superior to the stock Epiphone switch, and feels very durable and robust. No worries about bumping or vibrating between switch positions. It stays firm and in place with no issues. Highly recommended!

Great switch, all the connectors are very sturdy and was easy to wire up. Looks great, love the cream/white tip. It feels a little flimsier (if that's a word) than I was anticipating but still better than a stock Epiphone switch and works great.

Switchcraft makes good products. Used it on a 1990 Epiphone (Peerless) Casino. Good solid feel when operating. A little tight going through the F hole, plenty of room inside the body. The pre-tinned contacts help with the soldering. No problems.

Watch the wire location. The largest lug is ground. The output jack wire goes to the smaller two posts on the opposite side and the wires going to the pots are probably opposite of what you're used to. Just use a test lead to figure that out. My pictures show the dimensions of the long and short Switchcraft 3-way toggles. You may need to cut out some cavity in order for them to fit. They are sturdy and large. Awesome product.

Let’s say you're on stage with your band at some crappy gig and you were on your rhythm pickup playing some Lynyrd Skynyrd song. You're pretty wasted. Suddenly , you realize it's time for you to do the solo. Here’s your big chance to wake this crowd of drunks up! Well, about one beat late you slap that pickup switch down as hard as you can on your Epiphone Les Paul because you need to make history and see if you can get aone of them drunk chicks. Unfortunately you clam the whole solo and look like a fool. Drinking that much was your holy grail of mistakes. You are NOT asked back to do another gig there. Fine, just make sure you get paid. In this butt-ugly sitch, all you can do is thank your lucky stars you were smart enought to install a heavy duty Switchcraft Shorty in your Epi. Drunk pickup selection is no job for the stock Asian-made POS switch that lived in your puked on fake LP. Now you can almost afford to pay the guitar tech at your local shop that installed it for you for a 1/2 blunt. It was a good size fatty in your mind so you feel he shoulda thrown in a Switchcraft #11 output jack too in your POS Epi wood deuche guitar.

I purchased an “off brand” Les Paul style guitar and the switch was very cheap so I decided to replace it with a this switch. Great improvement with the fit and functionality after installing the Switch Craft switch. Highly recommend.
