Can you offer any tips to get your dog to chew these? They're pretty big and my dog keeps spitting them out.

I mix these into my retriever's food, she doesn't hesitate to eat them. They do break with a pill splitter, or they should crush into the food just fine (with a pill crusher, morter and pestle, or elecric chopper.) If none of that works, Duralactin may be your best bet. FYI, there is no doubt this product makes a difference for my dog.

Dog owners: will your dog chew these, or do you have to give manually?

I have a 120 lb Saint Bernard that will pick it out of his food too eat it first. He'll also take it from my hand and eat it. I also have a 10 week old German shepherd that will eat it no problems. But every dog is different. Some may not like the taste.

Is this like duralactin?

Yes. Same roots, but Duralactin is formulated for animals. Unfortunately, I'm not sure enough vets know about Duralactin either...it's is great for animals with joint pain (racing animals, working animals, pets, etc).

How large are these tablets? Do they have any flavor? Wanting to use in place of Duralactin for my large dog.

The tablets are not flavored. They offer a slight bitter taste, but not bad, especially for your dog. Size approx 1/4”x 1/8”
