What teenager doesn't dream of someday making a difference in the world? While one would assume that Princess Rosalinda (Demi Lovato) has a better chance of achieving that dream than regular Louisiana teenager Carter Mason (Selena Gomez), life is very unpredictable. Carter is a tomboy who lives with her dad, Major Mason (Tom Verica), and works in his bait shop. She’s a fairly typical teenager who’s crushing on a boy who barely knows she exists, and she has a strong aversion to her shallow and ultra-popular classmates Chelsea (Jamie Chung) and Brooke (Samantha Droke). Carter's dad works for the virtually unknown International Princess Protection Program and when he's called away on an emergency mission, he returns with rescued Princess-in-distress Rosalinda Maria Montoya Fiore (Demi Lovato) whose ascension to the throne of small island country Costa Luna is in peril thanks to militant dictator General Magnus Kane (Johnny Ray). Clueless dad that he is, Major Mason has no idea of how upset Carter will be at the intrusion of a total stranger into her life or of how difficult it will be for ""Rosie"" to blend in and pretend she's an average American teenager. While Carter and Rosie take an immediate dislike to one another, they eventually realize that they are not so inherently different and they join forces against Chelsea and Brooke, becoming friends in the process. MADE MY DAUGHTER JOYOUS!!
I purchased this dvd after a few hints were dropped by my 10 yr old princess. It got to us very fast and she was so happy watching it and all the added extras that weren't on tv. My wife and I also had a great family night with her as it was not just geared for kids. Very well done, I hope to experience many more "family nights". Disney really knows how to pick excellent young actors and singers and it is really nice to watch a fun and entertaining movie with my child without having to go through any age unappropriate scenes that makes her and us feel uncomfortable. Nothing but fun!

Always be true to yourself
Princess Protection Program is a great movie. It has a great storyline and it teaches a lot of VALUABLE moral lessons which a lot of movies do not teach anymore. This movie teaches you about the importance of friendship, being true to yourself, and no matter who you are or where you come from you are always special. This movie is about a princess Rosalinda (Demi) and she has to go into hiding so she is put into the house with Carter (Selena) and her father. Although Carter doesn't care for Rosalinda at first she learns to deal with her and they both learn a lot from each other including what it takes to be a great friend. This is truly a great movie. If you are looking for a great movie that the entire family can enjoy I recommend this movie. The Disney Channel has done a great job with this movie especially with the casting of Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.

Fun Family Fare from Disney
Cute Disney film that is fun and family-friendly. It starred two former Disney stars, the talented Ms Gomez and Ms Lovato. The two actresses were friends in real life so they have nice onscreen chemistry. The plot is predictable but there are some exciting parts that kids will enjoy and will keep them interested. It’s aimed at tween girls but adults will enjoy it as light fluffy, feel-good fare. It’s enjoyable how the two characters evolve, teaching each other life lessons.

Entertainment can be eduational. A fun movie with good moral values and lessons. Very enjoyable.
There are so many excellent reviews of this film, that another one is hardly needed. The story is good. The dialog is excellent. The acting and delivery is also excellent. There is no bad language or sexual content so this is an appropriate family movie. It promotes the idea that inner beauty is more important than outer appearance; though outer appearance is not unimportant. Inner beauty wins friends. Real friends are important. Good relations between teens and parents are also important. I highly recommend this movie.

輸入物ということですが、再生環境が対応しているか確認せずに購入。 もともとデミロヴァートとセレーナゴメスのファンなので、とにかく欲しいDVDでした！ いざ購入してみると、MacBook ProRetinadisplayでも再生可能で安心しました☆ が！！言語が、字幕音声共に日本語がなく、フランス語、スペイン語、英語のみでした。 英語の勉強もしたかったので、言葉を調べながら見て勉強になりました。 私もこんな親友が欲しくなりました。

Crowns and Bait Shops
Some girls dream about being princesses. For sixteen year old Rosalinda, it is reality. She is princess of a small kingdom and is used to servants. dress makers and a crown. She is soon to become queen of her kingdom and her coronation is drawing near. So we may fantasize about being royalty but no girl dreams of working at a bait shop (between going to school and getting picked on by the Queen Bee). But that's Carter Mason's life. The sometimes prone-to-having-an-attitude sixteen year old doesn't have many friends and maybe finds better company with the worms she sells at bait than she does with the girls at school. So you have two different girls. Two totally different life styles. Two totally different home lands. But sometimes things come together in strange ways. When a twist of events brings Rosalinda to Carter's home, Rosalinda has to learn how to hide her Princess identity and become a typical American teenager. Will Carter get over her prejudices about princesses and will Rosalinda learn how to fit in? Princess Protection Programme is a feel-good, all age appropriate movie with some laughs and a good moral message. Rosalinda's character of turning the other cheek and always being well mannered and gracious is an empowering role model. This is an amazing and unusual movie with a not so predictable ending. With the stars of this movie being the experienced Selena Gomez and the amazing Demi Lovato...you can't go wrong, right?
