We have a lot of lever arch files and ring binders on book shelves. There is plenty of support on the left, where it is less needed, because lever arch files tend to topple to the right. I was looking for something to provide support on the right, and was concerned that a lever arch file is bigger than the average book - could I find something up to the job? These actually support these large files very well and are neat in appearance.A tip - try to arrange for a large and heavy file next to the bookend. Its weight on the base will improve stability.

Exceeded my expectations. The bookends are a lovely touch to the room and keep the books standing up very steadily. They have a velvet base to prevent slipping on the surface, and you don’t have to prop them up with other objects. I’m also very pleased with the condition in which they were packaged and delivered to me. Overall, absolutely worth the price.

To start with, these bookends look beautiful. Charles renney Macintosh from some angles, Mondrian depending on the colour of your books!The are not heavy. Their lightness gave me concern, but they are perfectly engineered to manage even the heaviest box.I bought a second set because they are so good.I used the first set to contain the movement of my heavy photography books, one of which weighs in at a whopping 5.6kg!Buy these they are excellent.

They are sturdy and can hold quite a lot of books and the non slip bits on the bottom are great. As I have put these bookends on a metal surface and books sat originally on that surface on their own slide but with these they don’t. Put simply they are great, sturdy, do the job and can be decorated to suit you.

It was exactly as expected

These aren't the cheapest bookends on Amazon, but they are good value. They feel sturdy, look smart, and are currently holding up some heavy hardbacks without any trouble. I will probably get a couple of more sets for the rest of my shelves.

How good can a pair of bookends be? Well I think these bookends are great. I would certainly buy them again and I would certainly recommend them to anyone
