Helmetlok Helmet Lock - Black

Many motorcycles today do not come with a helmet lock, or the factory lock is inconveniently located. While the likelihood of someone stealing a helmet is probably pretty small (I don't know anyone who's had one stolen), still, it pays to be cautious. This lock is a cheap, easy way to lock your helmet without having an ugly piece of hardware permanently attached to your motorcycle (assuming you can even find a place to attach one on a modern motorcycle). I clip my HelmetLok to the fender rack on my bike. The lock is sturdy enough to last for years and small enough to carry in a pocket or tucked away in a saddlebag. I keep mine in the Grifter "stash box" behind my license plate. You set your own 3-digit combination, so forgetting the combo should never be a problem. The only downside to this lock is that many modern motorcycles don't have a lot of places that this lock can clip around that are convenient for hanging a helmet. It will go around a 1-inch handlebar, but it is a tight and awkward fit. If you have a luggage rack you should have no problem. You can also get an optional steel cable to go with this lock that can make locking your helmet a bit easier if you have no ready access to a rack or frame tube, and with the cable also lock up your jacket when you don't want to lug your riding gear around when you're off the bike. And of course, since the lock is portable, you can take it with you and use it on any bike you happen to be riding. Definitely a good thing to have, just in case you have to park your bike where the feral tweekers roam.

Such a simple idea with an incredible number of uses. Motorcyclists are always looking for a helmet lock to secure their hundred plus, dollar helmet. One they can use with out having the helmet bang against your paint job in the wind. HelmetLok can secure your helmet almost anywhere on the bike. I set my helmet on the backrest and hook the HelmetLol through the ring onto the rack. Nothing dangling from the frame or bars, or blowing in the breeze. And if it rains when I'm in the restaurant or store, the inside of my helmet is still nice and dry. Its incredibly affordable and a breeze to use. No keys to fight with... or loose. For under $20, it's definitely worth a try.

This lock with the optional cable is an odd sort of lock that turns out to be useful particularly when you want to cable-up your belongings so they don't casually wander away.The size and shape is convenient, but it does appear to be pretty light weight, and the cable is also rather thin - good for packing light, not so good if you really need some security. I would be ok with leaving this locking my stuff in a safe public area in daylight, and would be concerned at any other time.I am not sure how it would stand up to any real assault with a jack or anything hydraulic, but for light duty it seems fine.

It's not "super" industrial strength, but for a basic "lots of people around" or "away for a few" lock, combined with a small portable cable, it does fine. The carabiner nature is convenient for pocket or small fork bag storage.I would not use it with "VALUABLE" things where you plan to be away for a LONG time, as it's easily cut if so desired.Shipping was immediate.No hassle purchase or product!

The lock is easy to use and had no problems setting it up. I gave 4stars because I would like to see some kind or rubber around the ring as an option, but I fixed using electrical black tape so I won't scratch painted areas on the bike. Is small enough to fit on any pocket and sometimes I used it ad a key chain to put the different set of keys and no problem removing them. So far this lock is working fine... Will keep an eye on it.

I purchased this lock because I got tired of carrying my helmet around every time I go somewhere. Combo was really easy to personalize to your own code, over all I'm really pleased with this lock. Shipping was about 4-5 days

I got a new bike, and it didn't come with a helmet lock. I guess that technology is irrelevant today. Why wouldn't they put a helmet lock on a bike? There was one on the 1982 honda I had. There should just be one. If you are like me, and you think your bike should have a helmet lock, this one will suffice.

I just leave it on the mirror stalk of my new ZX-14 all the time. You don't have to actually lock it in low risk situations as it appears to be locked and is securely affixed to the motorcycle (helmet). It is tricky to use and the casual passer-byer would have no idea but you do. Priced sooooo reasonably for what you get.
