Great quality, fresh and effective.
I use this herb to make a blend with chamomile, hops and California poppy. The result is a smooth tea that helps me to relax and drift off to sleep. The herb has that distinct and pungent smell that is associated with Valerian herb. I appreciate the powder, it's easy to work with and a little goes a long way. The price point is good. I highly recommend this product.

Not the same
This Velerian Root powder from Bixa used to be Good, but the one I ordered in March 23rd 2025 does not have the same nice strong smell, looks different, and sadly has No strength. Really upset about this and wish I could return it. All the other times it was great, but I guess they changed it. 😞

Helps sleep so much
My wife swears by this stuff, and I used to take it. Just be careful because it will dehydrate you as it is a root after all, and roots suck up water. Very good as a sleep tool. Dont go without it if you have sleep issues. We found using oblates are the best to take it because of the taste and smell.

It goes down easy
This powder dissolves quite well and does not taste or smell too strong. I take a teaspoon in 3-4 oz of water, an hour before bed. I also add a teaspoon of glycine powder and within an hour I am sleepy. I always wake up refreshed. Occasionally I do get up once to go the bathroom, but I fall asleep again. I do recommend it.

Putrid
Do not purchase this item. It should not be sold in powder form. You cannot be prepared for the smell and worse the taste. You cannot mask this profoundly putrid taste with cranberry juice, orange juice, a green smoothie, there is no way and when you drink this your stomach will be upset. They do have pill form and that’s the way you should take this item. They would not take a return on this item and it’s been just less than a week. Do not purchase this item.I don’t know how any other review could say it’s tolerable in any way.
