Assassin's Creed: The Essential Guide

Note this only really covers up to AC - Origins - so if you want modern knowledge you'll have to look for an updated one. That being said this has some great facts and photos in it that make this an instant pickup for any AC fan. Great table book for nerds.

If you are a AC fan l, this is a must have!!! The encyclopedia of the AC universe, I had the previous version of this book, but this one contains much more includes the story’s from the games, movie and even the comic’s. 100% a must have if you are a fan!

This book is a huge win for my daughter! She loves it. She's playing through all the Assassin's Creed games and always tells me how the game graphics and story correlate beautifully with the book images. Accurate information that coincides with the games. Quality binding and pages. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is a fan of the franchise. This makes an excellent gift.

Pretty big book with a lot of Assassins Creed lore and info. Definitely worth the money for hardcore AC fans like me. I have played and replayed all the games and this book still taught me things i didn’t know which is great. Book is made of high quality pages with great pictures. Overall im super glad i picked this up.

The packaging is not protective enough, but the damage is still within the acceptable range for me.

A must for fans of the AC franchise and looks nice on your coffee table, too.

I bought this book for my husband whose a big Assassin's Creed fan. The pages are filled with vivid images. Yes, there are spoilers in the book. It walks the reader through every aspect of the games: timelines, gear and weapons, characters, and etc. This book makes a great gift!

Firstly, this book is beautiful to look at. The pages are heavy and glossy, and the artwork is all wonderful. Lots of things from the now defunct Initiates made it into the book, as well as the "conclusion" of the Desmond thread of the Modern Day plot from the comics. It's nice to lay on the coffee table for gamer friends to stare at for a few minutes. The major problem is the factual errors and editing issues. They're not obvious on first glance, but when you look a second or third time things truly stand out. Things like calling Chrétien Lafrenière one of Germain's allies on [Germain's] his profile page. I won't put all the errors I've found in my review for brevity, but for an item aimed at fans, it's disappointing to find so many of them. And these aren't small/minor details that are wrong. They're major plot points and important details of main story missions. I'm still a fan of the series and I'm happy to have the book for the art, but I would never suggest it for the content. The fan-run wiki (which is mentioned in the thanks section) is far more accurate and complete.

Art quality and text details are top notch! Coverage of all the AC games including the recent Origins and Oddessy (no Valhalla though but release after printing so understandable). The history of the story and the timelines or everything in and out of the Animus is very detailed and even after playing all the games I still found stuff in the book I had forgotten or didn't even know. Awesome AC fan collectors piece/coffee table book.

The book outlines all the major characters and traces the historical settings in this highly successful franchise. A collector's dream come true!

Aimed at fans and newcomers to the franchise, this guide gives a lot of information covering: characters, locations, timelines and technologies from the games, graphic novels and even internet based instalments such as Initiates. This is an updated version of the Essential Guide from 2016, now including Origins and Odyssey as well as the more recent comic storylines. Whilst most of the previous articles and pictures have stayed the same the printing quality is slightly clearer and some sections have been expanded upon to include the last three years' worth of updates. Beautifully printed in full colour, with a matte finish, the images are crisp and the writing is clear and there’s no useless padding of blank spaces to make this book seem like it’s got more in it. The layout is simple and easy to navigate, and makes use of in game hexagonal icons next to chapter titles at the top of each page that seasoned fans will recognise. This book is crammed with concept art, comic panels, game imagery and detailed articles that provide key information about Assassin’s Creed and how the various media all tie in together. This is not a game walkthrough or strategy guide, it does not cover gaming platforms or controls etc but it does contain spoilers for the whole series.
