Very easy to set up. Feels like a solid build. Other customers seem to find cheaper converters have more problems with performance and reliability, after I spent a lifetime reading zillions of reviews. I am using this to convert toslink from back of TV to a pair of Sennheiser cordless headphones. The headphones have their own battery powered volume control so no problem with insufficient volume level. (haven't even moved volume knob on the converter). The sound quality is a little bit better than using the 3.5 mm jack socket on the side of the TV. Had to do this conversion due to replacing very large Sony Amplifier with a pair of Edifier active speakers which sound excellent. Trouble is no headphones jack on back of speaker, hence the workaround but all good now.

Good value to connect to an old fashioned hi-fi system but the volume control is not linear and the steps in between can be excessive. Pretty good otherwise.

Bought mainly for connecting TV sound to HiFi. I was using an old high quality Marantz cd recorder for this purpose, but I was pleasantly surprised that this DAC sounds just as good. The volume control has only a small number of steps, but not a problem for me as I don't use it. I was considering some much more expensive solutions, but bought this just to try as it was low cost. It even has multiple inputs and a remote control. I think that this is great value for money. There was no mains adapter included; I power mine from a USB port on the back of my Sky box. I've added some rubber feet to keep it in position on my amplifier, and some dimming stickers over the very bright LEDs.

The headphone output volume is not great if you are hard of hearing.

Pros : Small, good sound, like that it has upto 4 optical inputs.Cons :Volume from 1 to 2 has a big big jump, would love if the volume level wss a bit more linear.The green LEDs on the unit are very bright, so I've stuck black tape on the lights (best option as you cant hide the the unit, otherwise the remote doesnt work)

Delighted with the DAC, well built and gives an overall improvement in the sound from my Denon amp, the bass now tighter which is what I wanted. A genuine improvement for a small outlay, recommended.

A cheap way of connecting a sky box to an analogue hifi.

Excellent audio using this with a 90s amp NAD 3240pe with no optical input. Can't discern any noise at least to my ears. 5 stars bang for buck.

Prodotto decisamente superiore alla norma. Rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo. Controllo del volume fluido e abbastanza potente per l'ascolto in cuffia. Qualità di ascolto ottima rispetto ad altri Dac che ho provato. Molto comodi i 4 ingressi toslink. Comoda la possibilità di spegnimento del convertitore quando non lo si usa. Consiglio l'acquisto decisamente valido.

Der DAC hängt an aktiven Bang Olufsen BeoLab 8000 die ich günstig bekommen habe. Ich wollte ohne High End Voodo etwas vernünftige klingendes aufbauen.Der Musik Dienst Tidal liefert sehr gute Qualität nicht zu vergleichen mit Amazon Music (prime) oder Spotify.Nun beginnt die Reise, als erstes Fire TV Stick 4K mit Tidal App über den optischen Ausgang vom LG TV und diesem “billig DAC”, wow ich war hin und weg. Hörte Instrumente die ich vorher nie wahrgenommen habe, jede Trommel glaube ich einzeln sehen zu können, Stimmen sind natürlich, Gitarren präsent, der Bass immer präzise und kontrolliert usw.Die Lautstärke ist mit der Kombi etwas gering, die Lautsprecher vertragen deutlich mehr.Aber immer noch laut genug.Angefixt von dem super Ergebnis für kleines Geld dachte ich mir das lässt sich bestimmt noch steigern und bin dem High End Voodoo verfallen. Ein anderer DAC, ein Blu Node2i Streamer das gehört heute schon dazu wenn “Mann Audiophil” sein möchte.Es gab viele Kombis, teilweise bis zu 200 mal so teuer.Das Ergebnis - nun hängt der Streamer am 20 Euro DAC einfach weil es sich super anhört.Das andere Zeug geht zurück.Den Streamer braucht es für den Komfort, klanglich gefällt mit dir Kombi Fire TV und dieser DAC eigentlich am besten.Wer einen DAC sucht macht mit diesem hier nix falsch, Audiophil und High End sollen die anderen sein 😂.Das Konto wird auch nicht geplündert.Achja es klackt leise beim wechseln der sampling Einstellung, das stört nicht wirklich.

Die Lautstärkeneinstellung arbeitet vielleicht etwas zu stufig, das heißt, die "Granularität" ist zu grob.Das Einzige das mir persönlich fehlt ist ein eingebauter Bluetooth-Transmitter, sodass man das Analogsignal direkt an die Kopfhörer senden kann. So braucht es noch ein zusätzliches Gerät.
