This is a traditional linear laser barcode reader and is very similar to the Symbol units I bought 20+ years ago. This unit is very inexpensive, at least 10x less (not accounting for inflation). The configuration settings are also similar and used special barcodes in the manual. For some, the lack of 2D capabilities may be a drawback. The quality and construction seem ok, but only time will tell. The old Symbol units were tanks and took a lot of abuse including grabbing the cord and treating the unit as a yoyo. I had no trouble reading barcodes on sales slips from about 2"-15". This reader plugged in and configured as a second keyboard.

Item is awesome, plugged it in to a USB port a worked great the first time, just what I was looking for. Works great for managing an inventory of serialized barcoded items. Happy with the price and purchase.

We do our RMA's manually and so that includes documenting the shipping information associated with packages. I got this for our warehouse because I got tired of manually entering the numbers and staff making mistakes. During the first couple of days it was great and worked well. To this day is still working well. Sometimes will not scan certain barcodes of a certain length. This is a 1D scanner but I've used more expensive barcode scanners and they are flawless and scan even the fuzziest of codes. Not this gun but then again for the money well worth it. Have dropped it a couple times too and it continues to work.

I'm not very tech-y, and this item is plug and play. It works with MAC. If you are technically challenged like me this is a very easy to use product that scans items easily and works well. Great item.

I bought this to scan all my books in my classroom. It did a great job at a low price. It made my life easy.

This model won't continue scanning without constantly rescan the help booklet reset code. Very annoying and time consuming. It worked ok for the first week but 3 weeks later it has issues. It is 5 week from purchased date so it can't be returned. I have had a similar model with no issue but this one isn't the same unfortunately. Update: The seller replied to my negative post suggesting I try trouble shooting instruction but I had already done that before posting the review. Throwing this scanner away and ordering from a different seller

Needed this to do an asset audit at my office of all the equipment. Scanned hundreds of barcodes with no problem, has a good feel to it and read the barcodes from about 6 to 8" away.

This is a good purchase. Simple to operate, works great, and a great value for the price.

I was skeptical of the accuracy of it but it works, even though wrinkled plastic. I was worried about previous reviews of those saying this died very quickly. But after using for a couple of hours every day for the last few months... it seems to still be working. I did notice that if you leave it plugged in, the scanner stays on as you can see a spinning reflector inside of it going even though you are not pulling the trigger. So I make sure to unplug it when I am done using it so hopefully, that will extend the life of it. Fingers crossed it doesn't die soon but I feel like I got my moneys worth for its very inexpensive cost compared to the other ones out in the market.
