KNIPEX - 71 01 200 Tools - CoBolt Compact Bolt Cutter (7101200), 8-Inch

This is an amazing tool. I have used it to cut nails out of an old deck and even managed to cut a few screws. It is remarkably heavy duty. Don't be put off by its size. Worth the price!

I recently purchased the KNIPEX CoBolt XL Compact Bolt Cutter (7101250) to replace my old Masterforce bolt cutters, which were a real pain (literally) to use when cutting steel electric fence wire. I couldn’t be happier with the upgrade! Cutting Performance: These bolt cutters cut through the same steel electric fence wire like butter — with far less hand strain and effort than my old pair. I immediately noticed how smooth and clean each cut was. It feels like KNIPEX put a lot of engineering into the leverage and cutting edge. Ease of Use: The handles are comfortable and require surprisingly little force, even on tougher wire. With my old Masterforce cutters, I’d feel it in my hands and wrists after a few cuts — with the KNIPEX, I can work much longer without discomfort. Build Quality: These cutters feel very solid and well-made, as you’d expect from KNIPEX. After cutting several lengths of fence wire, I did notice some faint marks on the blades where I made the cuts. I’m hoping this is normal and not an early sign of wear, but so far they cut just as cleanly as when I first took them out of the box. Overall: If you’re frustrated with cheap or uncomfortable bolt cutters and want something that makes cutting wire practically effortless, I highly recommend these. They’re a bit more expensive than budget brands, but the difference in quality and comfort is worth every penny. Pros: ✅ Cuts steel fence wire easily, with minimal force ✅ Comfortable handles, no more hand pain ✅ High build quality, solid feel Cons: ❌ Slight blade marks after cutting wire (time will tell how they hold up) ❌ On the pricey side compared to budget options Final Verdict: 5 stars — these are now my go-to tool for cutting wire. Highly recommended if you value your hands and want clean, easy cuts every time.

Everything Knipex is fantastic. High quality, cuts easily, and seem very durable.

Excellent quality, Knipex never fails. Designed well, and the extra 2” in the 10” version is worth the $15 more. A little on the pricey side but well worth it. (Also I cut clips off of ancient barbed wire fence all day and my hand rarely or never hurts because of it.

Knipex makes great tools. I prefer the Knipex adjustable pliers over my Snap-on adjustable pliers. These are great for cutting larger cotter pins

Use these to cut anything that I don’t want to cut with my dykes. I use almost all the Knipex tools because they cost more, but last forever. They are top of the line and I like that!! Use it for cutting some springs and bolts at work.

Knipex makes top tier products. These last for years and years. Highly recommended

One of those tools that just feels right in your hand. Solid, well crafted and excellent hi-leverage design that performs as well as cutters that are much larger. Cuts through 16D nails like butter.
