Polarized Men's and Women's Red Sands Rectangular Sunglasses

After squinting my way through golf rounds and getting told by my dermatologist that I needed better protection for the skin under my eyes, I decided to invest in a good pair of sunglasses. I must have spent HOURS researching, and finally narrowed it down to the Maui Jim Red Sands or the Oakley Portal X. The Maui Jims are more expensive but generally considered the highest quality. At first I was concerned about the fact that they were polarized, which can interfere with depth perception on the greens, but the reviews said Maui Jim has special polarized lenses that actually work well on the golf course. Having tried them out I can say that's a fact. I wanted the HCL bronze lenses because they are supposed to be the best for golfing, but they were sold out on the Maui Jim website, so I found them here. I was a little apprehensive because Amazon is developing a reputation for selling knockoffs or used items as new, but happy to say that wasn't the case here. The glasses I got were brand new, in perfect condition and in the original box. And they are marvelously light and stay on my face with no problem even when I'm sweating profusely. I think you could even go jogging in these if you wanted. Very pleased!

These glasses are perfect for a giant head (size 8, which translates to a XXXXL). As such, they do not look as good on a small head. Makes people look like they are children wearing their parents sunglasses. But, for larger faces they look fantastic and feel amazing. Lens quality is excellent, clarity is fantastic. They seem really durable and are very scratch resistant. One other thing, I like to wear the Deep Woods bug spray (100% deet) and that stuff is CAUSTIC. Makes my lips go numb. It's freaking awesome. Anyway, I've had it eat through camera backs, cell phone cases, hats and a ton of cheap sunglasses. Literally melted the stem off one of them. However, these glasses seem to handle it fine. The rubber doesn't melt and the plastic doesn't die. I know that doesn't matter to most people, but it does speak to the quality of their materials. It will definitely hold up to sweat and the toll of time. Overall, excellent glasses.

Durable, polarized, scratch resistant, we have re-purchased several times over the last 15 years and its not from lack of quality. They are comfortable and we love the color

Initially I was a little apprehensive to order these based on previous reviews of these being counterfeits. I'm happy to report that these are indeed actual Maui Jim sunglasses. Included in the box are the sunglasses, case, and microfiber cleaning cloth. These are perfect for those with a bigger head, as an example I wear a size 7 1/2 cap and these fit great. And since I mentioned cap, these fit very good with a cap on. They are without a doubt the lightest pair of glasses I've every tried on and they do a good job of filtering out sunlight with polarized lenses. I highly recommend this product.

I’ve worn Maui Jim’s for a very long time. Each pair usually lasts 3-5 years and ends up with me losing the pair. This pair I’ve had for less than a year and I’m needing a replacement and I’m not getting Maui Jim’s as the replacement. I have been so disappointed in the quality of this pair. They feel like $25 dollar gas station sunglasses. Cheap lenses (scratched all over), stinky (plastic smell even after almost a year which you can smell while on your face). For $242 bucks, these are absolutely not worth the money. Get another Maui, but this is a huge failure on their part.

These sunglasses are of good quality and do a good job filtering the sun, however, I had to return the pair I ordered because they were too large for my face and I did not like the nose rest. I took off one star because I found the nose rest to be uncomfortable. The nose rest is not integrated into the frame it stands off and is attached with two screws, this provides two points of contact with your nose. Take a close look at the photos and you will see what I mean. Most people would likely not find this to be an issue as the sunglasses themselves are great.

This is my third pair of Red Sands frames, first one was broken (my fault) and second decided to stay behind on my last vacation (can't blame them, really!) While I am unhappy with MJ for not working with vision insurance plans anymore (and the prescription price going up by $600!) I still find this frame the best available anywhere due to the wired nose piece (instead of molded - you can see in the picture). So I bought another pair and will continue to love them - even in a non-prescription format.

Had to get rid of my D&G glasses after 5 years due to scratching. These look pretty good too, though much lighter and best of all they actually stay in place where as my others constantly slid down my face due to the material. I also like that things don’t really get super dark when I wear these. Not like other sunglasses I’ve had. I can see pretty well. And again, they don’t fly off in my jeep when I have the windows down. So I’m happy with these for the next 5 years.
