A wonderfully, useful system for installing lighting circuits.
The Quickwire system is a brilliant concept. It makes wiring up a lighting circuit, as simple as can be.They are only available for lighting circuits at the moment. They only accept solid core twin and earth of 1.0mm or 1.5mm. I believe Quickwire are going to be bringing out boxes suitable for larger sized twin and earth presently. In this set you receive 2 x splitters, 2 x switch and loads, and a pair of flat cable strippers. The system works as follows. A splitter is exactly that. There are 4 in inputs. All the inputs are linked, so any cable in any input, will be paralleled to all the other inputs. The switch and load, is as described. It has 2 inputs labelled 'power', which are your line in and out. An input labelled 'switch', where your switch cable goes into, and an input labelled 'load', which is what you connect to your light. The method is, you strip the outer sheath of your twin and earth back 20-22mm, then strip the inner cores to 15-17mm. You then line up the cable with the holes, making sure you have cable the right way around (the boxes are all marked with L and N on each input), you insert the cable and push it home. There is a sliding mechanism that slides in and then locks home. That's it, that's all you need to do.You'll soon get the hang of it, and it makes installing lights so very very quick. If for example you were installing a downlight system, you would run your cable in as you normally would, into the switch and load, then connect a splitter to the load input, and keep connecting as many splitters as you need to each other. Your lights would then be connected to the inputs on the splitter. If you insert a cable into the wrong input, you have an Included removal tool, which you place either side of the locking clip, squeeze, and then slide it back out.As I said, you can only use 1.0 and 1.5mm solid core twin and earth. That does mean that if you're joining a lighting fixture on ordinary stranded flex, you will need to run solid core from the load input and join to your light at a separate junction, eg, a Wago box.You can get clips that enable you to secure the Quickwire boxes to joists etc. You don't receive any in this kit.The strippers are excellent, they are marked with the 22mm length needed to strip the outer sheath. They will strip up to 2.5mm twin and earth, so are really useful for ring circuits too. They have a hole through the middle, so you can strip any length that you want. They are great for stripping the cable close to the insertion point in back boxes. The strippers I received, are branded as Jokari, not Quickwire. However, they are exactly the same. As far as I can tell, the Quickwire, Jokari and Knipex strippers are all manufactured in Germany, by the same company.Overall, this is such a well thought out, useful system. It can save you hours of time on a downlight installation, but is equally useful for any lighting circuit.Recommended.I hope you found this review helpful.

Amazingly simple, amazingly quick
I was replacing two pendant light with LED panels. This meant I needed to replace and/or relocate the ceiling roses to fit the LED driver modules. I think I spent more time checking and labeling the existing cabling than I did install the Quickwire units. It only takes a few seconds to strip the wires to the right length and then push them into the connector module. And that's it, the job is done, no need to fit everything into a box.The wire strippers are good but appear to be specifically designed for Quickwire and while they could be used on other wiring tasks they may not be general purpose. If you already have a good set of electricians wire strippers you should be fine with them and just buy the connector modules.

So easy to use
I added an LED strip light in the loft and purchased this specifically for this purpose. The stripping tool made a great job of the flat cable insulation and it was so easy to fit the inline splice. Next up was the switch, slightly different positioning but still very easy to use. I tie wrapped them both to joists for security. Yes I could have done the same thing with junction boxes and so on but this made it really easy.

Worth every penny!
Amazing invention for DIY electrical work or professional! Makes life so much easier by just simply clicking the wires in, you don’t have to spend time screwing them in a junction box. Also the Cable Strippers are excellent quality. Would highly recommend!

Great junction box.
Great piece of kit, made wiring up really easy. Just make sure you trim the wires correctly to fit properly into the junction box. The wire trimmers are great if a little pricey but if you intend to do lots of wiring then a sound investment.
