I have purchased three of these cameras. The installation is truly a bit tricky for sure. I think the app pyle pro is most of the problem. I would loac just the app pyle, that app makes it so much easier to instal. The cameras are really a great deal for the money. I would recommend them and have to others. The added instructions online are really helpful. I had to reset the passwords on the camera. Online instructions will tell you how.

I have read these reviews on Amazon and I have to be honest. I don't see what all the fuss is about. These cameras do work and they require less manual configuration than I expected. At the time of this review these sell for $40. Anyone who is considering this camera needs to understand that you are not going to get a top notch security camera like you see in the movies for this price. It just doesn't work that way, even on Amazon. Also, if you are not comfortable configuring IPs and manually connecting devices to your WiFi then you probably don't want to make setting up security cameras your trial challenge. That being said, these cameras do work well for the price. The night vision is great and the Pyle Pro app will connect to your cameras when you're away with ZERO router configuration!! I do have to restart them maybe once a week or so, but that improved once I updated the firmware. I used to use old smartphones running the IP Webcam app and I had to restart those more frequently than these. Also, there are videos on YouTube from the Pyle company showing you how to set these up with the ivideon server (just google PIPCAM5 ivideon) and it's not that difficult. All in all if you are looking for a BASIC security camera and you are reasonably comfortable with computers then this should serve you well

Great camera for the price. I now have purchased four of them in the past several months. One thing to watch out for which is very minor when first setting it up when plugging in the AC adapter the manufacturer in all their wisdom made the AC adapter port the exact size as the audio out port and of course the identification of each port is black the same color as the camera making it very hard to read especially if you wear glasses and don't have them on.The low light or night time view is very good for such an inexpensive cameraThe iOS application Pyle IP Pro works great and if you want to have multiple cameras (I have 4 Pyle PIPCAM5 and 1 Pyle PIPCAM HD45 Camera all on my main desk PC showing all five pictures live with multiple camera application which right now only works with a PC.Support is only available via email and usually you get a response within 24 hours. Make sure to check on a firmware update when first installing your new camera. Ryan and Carson have been very responsive in trying to resolve any issues that I might have had and my only issue was on the Pyle HD45 not any of the PIPCAM 5's as it was my fault plugging in the AC adapter to the wrong port on my PIPCAM5 as I mentioned above.The PIPCAM5 does not support a SD card and at the price of under fifty dollars I would not expect an SD slot, The Plye PIPCAM 8 does have an SD slot at a higher price.

We absolutely LOVE this item. We have a 9 month old puppy who likes to get into things but is too big for the crate. This really helps us, when we aren't home to be able to keep an eye on the 2 dogs we have, while being able to "talk" through the machine to them when they do something wrong. We were so happy with the first one that we purchased another for the house and one for the brother and sister-in-law. They love it too for their new dog! What a great way to be able to keep an eye on your household when you aren't home! And the ability to look through the camera on our phones is a definite plus!!!

Love this surveillance camera! For the price... it was everything I hoped and more. I purchased this camera because we just got two puppies and I wanted to check on them during the day while I was working. It allows you to take pics, video and includes built-in speaker too. I love the app - I can adjust the camera from my phone and check on my pups anytime - day or night. It was super easy to hook up and connect to my home wireless network. I've attached two photos taken with the camera/app. One is during the daylight and the other is at night - completely dark and still picks up room view.

I found this to be just ok. The web interface is a little clunky, and though you can supposedly update the interface and firmware, the source of those files don't seem to be maintained anymore. Another annoyance is that there is a flashing LED that's on by default, and though you can turn it off, mine ended up being back on when I came home after being away for a couple days. So much for subtlety watching the pet sitter. All that said, it was relatively easy to set up. It provided decent images in daylight, indoor light, and infrared, and I was able to access it throughout the time I was away from my home. (I did set it up a couple days before I left town, and found that it would occasionally lock up, so I put it on a digital timer to cut power for a minute every six hours, and that seemed to work ok.)

I really like this device. I bought it because my shepherd has separation anxiety and I would be able to watch him from wherever I was and I would be able to talk to him so that he would be okay.I would give it five stars except that it is difficult to set up with wifi and it disconnects from your phone often. Other than that it is great. The picture is crystal clear. The audio is not perfect but good.I will probally buy an upgraded version but the price was so good for this one, I could not pass it up.
