Walking with Dinosaurs

This series is brilliant. The special effects are truly impressive, the style (made like a fake nature documentary, as if the filmmakers are just observing the dinosaurs in the wilds) is clever, and it's all just fascinating. Some of it is quite graphic with dinosaurs battling each other, eating each other and dying off in lots of different ways, so I was worried that my almost-four-year-old wasn't ready for it. But he's started to ask questions about dying and animals eating each other and this has actually been a nice segueway into those discussions. We've especially enjoyed the "making of" featurette - lots of information there well beyond how they acheived the special effects.

Our little one loves dinosaurs and this series keeps her attention. I found it very informative and CGI dinosaurs were very lifelike. Features two disks that cover all the familiar and unfamiliar dinos. Disk 1 is the actual program itself while disk 2 is extras such as 'the making of...'. Runs about 3 hours and looks great in hi-def.

excellent dvd! We had this in our collection years ago on vhs. It's so much better in digital format. This is one of the best productions BBC has ever done. The dinosaurs are realistic looking, the landscape is fantastic. Hours of entertainment. If you're a dinosaur fanatic this is a must have. You learn the life, eating habits, time periods, interaction of many different species of dinosaurs during the periods in which they lived.

I saw this documentary as a child on the Discovery Channel. It remains one of the greatest and best prehistoric mockumentaries that has been made to date. Not everything in the series is still scientifically accurate but the spirit of the series still holds faithfully.

I bought this because I remember seeing this as a kid and honestly it's just as spectacular, although it is a bit statter-y at times, but other than that it's just as perfect as I remember. :)

Matched the product that was described.

In the beginning of the series when it shows the Cretaceous period, there was music in the background unlike the original series since it is remastered. I find that interesting and something to appreciate, even when the contents remain the same. As for Walking with Dinosaurs: The Next Chapter, it shows an insight of dinosaurs with the use of modern science and technology. I love it how Steve Brusatte explains and demonstrates of the dinosaurs' lifestyle with other paleontologists' standpoints.

I first viewed this series from our local library with my 3 year old grandson. He wanted to watch it so often that I finally purchased this copy to keep at my house. This series is very informative without being too technical. My grandson loves the life-like graphics (which are fantastic) and has already memorized the names of most of the dinosaurs featured. This series is entertaining as well as being educational.

Es tal cual la imagien, versión de 2 discos y trae slipcover, no lo esperaba pero es una excelente sorpresa, uno de los mejores documentales, en su tiempo fue muy innovador, si no lo an visto deben de verlo, y si ya lo vieron es una excelente adición a la colección, aunque fue mandado en sobre llego muy bien, solo ligeros detalles pero de fábrica, pues aún comprando físicamente en tiendas traen detalles.

Serie fantástica, muy bien hecha y entretenida ,cumple con lo esperado, aunque hubiera sido genial encontrarla en Blu-ray. Audio y sub en inglés. La recomiendo.

We have been watching dinosaur/prehistoric animals/sharks shows for 4 years now. These DVDs are pretty decent, certainly good enough for young enthusiasts.
