VGA Splitter

It's very important to realize that this product CAN ONLY BE AS GOOD AS YOUR PC'S GRAPHICS CARD/SETUP. I have a Dell that was built in 2004, so it's pretty old technology. The product is working as expected. Too bad my computer's graphic card is not up to pushing my monitor and my TV at the same time. When they are both hooked up, both screens darken and lose their sharpness. This problem was anticipated as a possibility when I ordered the Y Splitter, after reading the reviews. Also, as reviewers noted, the screws on the splitter are too short to screw into the receiving ends of either the monitor or TV. However, even after reading the reviews, which were mostly positive, I ordered the product anyway. I know that constantly changing out VGA ends on the back of my PC tower is not good for the cheapie little holders that keep the port in place. Therefore, I still feel I ordered the correct product for the price, as I can still keep the male end of the split hooked up to the back of the computer, and I simply only plug either the monitor or the TV into one of the Y ends at a time. Not the best solution to my goal of sitting on the couch and simply choosing the correct input on my TV's menu, but what the heck! It is definitely saving wear and tear to the little VGA output on the back of my PC tower, and when only one output is hooked up at a time, the display is as good as whatever the online source can make it, so all in all, I am satisfied.

This splitter works well for my application. I want to display my TV box on two monitors, and this works perfectly. I has to use gender changers for my application, but the signal is good, and I am happy with my purchase. I would purchase these again.

These are VGA split adapters (Y cable) that will work ONLY if you place them before the VGA cable. Meaning, that these need to be connected to the Video card output, then you connect the VGA cable to these adapters, then those cables connect to displays. If you want to connect these AFTER the VGA cable (between cables and displays), they won't connect. I purchased these without looking carefully, and could not use them. I mean, yes, you could order gender changers to convert these adapters to the "After Cable" type, but the video signal halves on ever connector, so, with gender changes, and these Y splitters, your setup signal level would be below the display input sensitivity level. You would have issues with displays recognizing the input, and video quality / focus. Other than this not being specified in description, these are great quality adapters, no problems with them.

Updated: So my original splitter had some issues but customer service reached out and replaced the splitter and the new one works great for showing the same picture on two different screens. I'm using my to run a monitor and over head projector and its great for that I'm glad customer service contacted me and made it right, way to go. If you happen to have the same issues I had with my original splitter (talked about below) I would recommend emailing the seller so they can you fixed right up. It duplicates one VGA video signal to two displays. I bought it to run a monitor and sometimes a projector. It worked fine for that but found out if you only use one screen on the splitter it distorted the single picture. For something so simple I'm not sure what they did to it sad.

The only reason for this review it that it did not work for what I was trying to setup in my home office.

This device is as simple as could be, yet excels in its simplicity. I *had* to write something here, so as to take away from the toxic low ratings for people that rated this lowly because it didn’t act like a graphics card, because they didn’t do the most cursory of research. This device splits the video signal from one VGA 15 pin connector to two VGA connectors. It *WILL NOT* extend your primary display or give you access to a different secondary display. It *WILL*, however, split and mirror your primary display.

Look if you are trying to get a mirror image on 2 separate monitors this cable will work fine for you. The cable works great. If you are trying to have a dual monitor set up and have different things showing on each monitor this will not work. Might be common sense for some people but it wasn't for me. I didn't return it because I found another use for it. I gave it a 5 stars because it works and it is pretty good quality. Just thought I should point out how it works. Buy with confidence.
