Other than listing characters and short summary, and mentioning the theme, there is nothing to aid in studying for a test.

Affordable School Book
We needed this book for my daughter's language arts class. It was a much more affordable copy of the book than the one available through the school. Her take on this book is that it was boring. However, I do not think the teachers choose it for entertainment purposes but to expose young readers to a different writing style with classic characterization. So for those needs, this book was fine.

The Pearl: Study Guide was excellent
The study guide was very helpful by providiing extra insight into the story itself and giving it much more meaning to me. I highly recommend this study guide.

Although this provided good summaries, etc, there was nothing any more special than what you can find on-line using free sources.

Great Job. My son actually would like to read it.
this guide sums up every chapter and allows a better understanding. My son felt the words in the original book were hard to understand but now it gives him an understanding of the book first.
