Prismacolor Premiere Friendly!
I bought this to use with my Premiere colored pencils. They are notorious for splitting wood, broken leads, and a whole host of other issues that are exacerbated by using a handheld sharpener. But, we all put up with it because of the quality while on a budget. That being said, we have all been told at one point or another that electric sharpeners get clogged up with the soft leads of these pencils and that it splinters the wood, so not to use them. Well, this little sharpener eliminates all of the "user induced" problems as well as the issues caused by poor manufacturing the past few years. It doesn't get gunky like the handhelds do, nor does it splinter the wood or crack the leads. Sharpens fantastically, actually. It's nice, fine "school sharpener" style shavings and it doesn't break your leads off if you want them super pointy unless you press too hard.I had a few pencils that had their wood severely fractured from a handheld sharpener, and wanted to see how this guy would do with them. Handled them like a champ! It cleaned up the wood and I was able to save the pencils from utter ruin. It's a great little sharpener all in all. It's quiet, really does do the 3 levels of sharpness, and it's very easy to clean. I would buy this little guy again and will recommend it to anyone that say they are in need of a quality sharpener.

I have old memories of oversharpening colored pencils and the lead just falling out of the pencil like it had given up on life
I bought this sharpener specifically to sharpen my Pentel colored pencils, and just to have an electric sharpener around for regular pencils. I was a little skeptical that an electric sharpener would sharpen colored pencils effectively. I have old memories of oversharpening colored pencils and the lead just falling out of the pencil like it had given up on life. This little sharpener works amazingly well so far! I've probably sharpened every pencil in the 24 pack and had no problems. I love that this sharpener has three levels of sharpness; I started with medium, which creates a sharp point (but not too sharp) and have stuck with it.I also love that this sharpener has three choices for power. I can't speak for the USB option, since I don't use this near a computer, but the AC adapter seems to provide the most power. I gave this four stars since I prefer to use batteries but it doesn't seem to have as much juice as when it's plugged in.Overall, a more than decent pencil sharpener for colored pencils. I hope it lasts for a long time!

It's GREEN, and it's cute!
I like it. It's very cute (that funky, "fresh" green color--not like what appears to be yellow in the foto, but I figured that it would be). I really liked that it can run on batteries or you can plug it in with included AC adapter. It's got a selector to let you choose three different points for various needs, I guess. Also like the clear plastic so you can see when the shavings need to be cleaned out.I had an old Boston workhorse that I used for many years as an editor, and the motor finally died. Looked around on Amazon because, well . . our local Office Depot is shutting down, and . . . well, of course. This probably won't last as long as my previous one, but the quality seems fairly good (have really only used it a few times). Not terribly quiet, but it's a SHARPENER, so to be expected.Enjoy it. And now I can feel good about writing this review, and the vendor will be happy, too (very pro-active).

Good BUT......
In general, this sharpener is good so far BUT I will give you what I didn't like:1. This sharpener doesn't have automatic stop. I did this experience and the half of the pencil was gone! If you have kids , it is an issue because they don't know how long is enough to sharpen a pencil.2. The clear case on the front that hold the shaving is not big and also very difficult to empty the messy because the opening is very small. The storage for itself is small but the opening is a quarter of this!!3. This sharpener is made in China. I don't trust in Chinese products!4. I got the green sharpener BUT the color displayed on the advertisement is yellow. In fact , the seller describes green but I only realized that when I got it.5. It is not too strong. I feel like it's going to "die" if I press too much the pencil on the hole.6. To be honest, I didn't see big difference between the first two settings level (blunt and medium) on my pencil lead.Once again, this sharpener is not bad BUT could be better.

Totally lives up to its advertising...
- The Magno Sharpener is already proving to be a fabulous addition to my art bag, I can take it _anywhere_. I did a great deal of research, looking for just the right sharpener - and there are so many out there, with such a confusing array of options. This one had everything I needed. I especially love the fact that it can be powered off a USB or AC connection - or it can go completely cordless. In addition, it gives you whatever style of point you need, from very sharp to a 'flat-topped' point. I'm using mostly solid graphite art pencils, but also standard wood pencils. It is very quiet. And I love the excellent quality of the sharpening mechanism. This isn't just a single blade stuck in a housing. It's a spiral edged precision machined sharpening tool. It was on my wish list for a while because of the cost, but it was completely worth the investment.

Lasted over 4 years
This product worked great from August 2015 through January 2020, then stopped with no warning. Husband couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I loved the different point options, compact size, and the ease of use. Considering another as I search for replacement. I didn’t use it that often for it to die so soon, but it was great until then.
