Perfect for the 300 series
Perfect fit for my circa 1986 Series 300 exterior faucet. It's been dripping for a while, and this kit (plus a couple YouTube vids) solved the problem.

Works as intended
This does work as intended, and while it doesn't come with detailed instructions - there are plenty of YouTube videos that show exactly how to replace the old parts on your faucet with these new parts.Oh, and one more thing: be very, VERY careful when removing the old plastic packing nut, it gets very brittle over time. If you'll break the outer part of it - it will be very difficult to get the remaining part out of the faucet's pipe. The best way to remove it (with the least possibility of breaking it) is using a socket wrench instead of any kind of pliers.

Works With a Prier Series 400
This item works for the Prier series 400 valve. Note, the instructions are not good at all so I'm going to make this very simple for you. If you look at my photo, it shows all the parts that are included in the kit. Use the circled parts only and discard the others.1. If you remove the packing nut (behind the handle) by turning in a clockwise direction you will use the tan colored packing nut.2. After you've removed the long rod from the valve, you will use the new brass screw and smaller round washer on the tip of that rod, with the small Oring directly behind it (pull the Oring over the small flange directly behind the screw and washer first).3. On the end of the rod closest to the handle, remove the metal washer and old packing washer (if it hasn't disintegrated) and replace it with the new ones. That's it -- you're done!

much better than soldering in a new faucet
The kit does all 300 400 500 600 Mansfield (now Prier) faucet stem washers and packing. It has packing materials for both the left hand and right hand packing types. For me this is a 300 series (RH) and a 500 series (LH). Though I needed the kit for a second faucet it would have been better if I had removed the stems for inspection before I ordered the kit. In my case one of the washer retaining screws in the end of the model 300 stem had rotted out so badly I could not get the remnants out of the stem and had to order a new stem which comes with washers and packing. The other thing I learned is that the vacuum break can also leak. Those parts are not in this kit. So if you have a vacuum break check if it leaks before ordering parts. There is a kit that includes the vacuum break components as well as the stem washers and packing. Fortunately there is also a kit that only contains the vacuum break components so I didn't lose much by not ordering everything at once.Mansfieldparts has a great short video on how to tell the different models apart and shows you the relevant part numbers for each unit.If I had a leak in a faucet with the vacuum break I would just buy the all inclusive kit and change all the washers and packing at the same time. It is quick and easy.Overall I like the quality of the kit.Jay

Works great, here are a few tips
This kit provides parts for fixing several models of Mansfield/Prier hydrant. The parts are relatively easy to install, but finding the right parts to use from the package, as well as the orientation of the basket washer for my 500 series, proved to be less than intuitive. My first mistake was removing the entire hydrant from out of the wall (my initial thought was that I would have to get a new one). THEN I found this kit, which can be installed without removing the hydrant (ha-ha).The parts diagram on the back of the package is pretty much useless. I went to the Prier website and found a PDF of the assembly that helped a bit. I finally noticed that on the bottom of the parts diagram on the package is a general reference to YouTube. I went there and searched for "Prier" and quickly found a video that covered my 500 series hydrant. Wish I had looked there first. As others have noted, this kit does not have any repair parts for the vacuum assembly -- there is a separate kit for that (630-7500 for the 400 and 500 series), as well as another YouTube video.Overall, things will go a lot easier for you if you watch the YouTube videos first. Good luck!

Perfect. Everything included
I haven't replaced the guts of a hose bib before.Takeaway after fixing the handle leak: Replace all of the gaskets and o rings!I hoped all I needed to do was replace the first big white nut gasket.I started there and it still leaked at the handle.Once I took it apart again and replaced all of the rubber parts, it stopped leaking. It wasn't horrible to pull the stem and replace everything. It would have saved me time by doing it all at once. The stem gaskets were shot too.Naturally , Murphys law, my first attempt, being half a$$Ed, the handle leaked when it was off. A step backwards. I thought I was going to have to use the neighbors bathroom all day.Just replace all the parts and you'll be good!

Not an exact fit for my Mansfield unit
The kit did not exactly match my Mansfield 300 installation from 1980s. The top plastic part was just "slightly off", enough to not fit into the enclosure. The only part I was able to use is the rubber gasket at the end of the rod.

Check your plastic handle first!
If you have a 400 series with a 100% plastic handle, turn off the water supply and check to see if the handle itself is busted before you buy this. I bought this kit and when I opened up the faucet to replace the interior hose/pipe accessories, I saw that the 100% plastic handle was broken inside, which is what caused the leaking. THEREFORE, there is a chance if you want this because of leaking - check the handle first and then determine if you need this kit or the handle. Since I already bought this I replaced the parts and ordered a new handle (100% plastic is the only replacement option - not happy about that!). This product was easy to install.
