Millionaires Shortbread

At first I was sceptical about these bars as I have had mixed experiences with protein bars, cookies etc in the past. Fortunately the flavour of these was spot on! They taste like a millionaire shortbread and offer that taste satisfaction that stops you reaching for the sweet treats whilst still helping you get a hefty dose of protein. The texture of the bars is also an improvement on other Maximuscle bars and those from other brands - not ridiculously chewy or a chore to eat that then leaves you with jaw ache and a sour protein taste in your mouth! Definitely something I'd recommend to anyone wanting a tasty protein snack on the go to fuel you between sessions when you don't have access to a small meal or cant stomach drinking yet another protein shake.

These maximuscle protein bars used to be amazing until about four or five years ago when they changed the recipe. I used to buy loads every month, but I can’t find any as nice as they used to be. I had high hopes for these, but they’re just like the others.

Bought these originally during Prime day, but subsequently been back to order more. Great flavour, good value and filling, offering a good hit of protein to supplement training. These bars are both handy and flavoursome, so can be off benefit for either fast fuelling or for a treat (I like them as a treat with a cup of tea). Being vegetarian and not a fan of some of the usual more natural sources of protein, I often look to the supplementation path, and definitely glad I came across these.

I had the millionaire shortbread one. Had high hopes and they were all let down. Aside from looking like a millionaire shortbread when you bite into them, they were nothing alike. The texture isn't great but would be tolerable if only the taste was there!!! Taste like protein powder straight up. I expect a small protein powder taste in these bars but not like this. DO NOT BUY.

I concur with all those that reviewed this negatively. The new flavour is terrible in comparison with the previous version of this bar. However, if I hadn’t tasted the previous flavour, this bar would be alright. There are better bars on the market but if this is all that’s available they would do.

Good quality item (as you would expect from Maximuscle). Nice taste and easy to consume. Got them on sale so v happy with the price I paid for these bars. Would recommend.

I have always used Maximuscle products for my training needs since they first were established by Zef Eisenberg in 1995/1996, albeit they are now owned by Glaxo Smith Kline....Great brand, great taste, easy to use and value for money!
