Great bulbs, but expensive for what they are
I wanted to get started with smart bulbs but know very little about them and how they work. I don’t have an Alexa and don’t want to purchase a Hue Bridge so just wanted something I can control via an app on my phone.Philips Hue seem to be regarded as the best smart bulbs available, although they are quite expensive for what they are so I stuck to the basics and just got the warm white bulbs which can be dimmed. I mainly wanted a dimmable bulb for my bedroom lamp as it tends to be too bright if I wake up during the night and switch it on.I’m very pleased with these bulbs despite feeling like they are overpriced. Setting them up was so easy - just screw them in, switch the lamps on, and the Philips Hue Bluetooth app discovered the bulbs and connected in a few seconds. As my flat is small the Bluetooth range works everywhere, so I can switch on a lamp before I enter a room! The app is easy to use and the bulbs seem to be very responsive to the on/off and dimming controls. The bulbs are also a nice warm white colour and have good brightness. As far as I’ve seen these bulbs will work with most new smartphones but not older ones, so I would suggest checking if your smartphone and operating system are supported before buying.I’m not sure if the experience would be as straightforward when trying to connect with a Hue Bridge or Alexa, but if you’re just looking for a simple way to join the world of smart bulbs I would definitely recommend these.

Game changer, Light bulb moment, of the smart kind
I have several smart bulbs and I have to say this one stands out. Out of the box it is mega simple to install (using Echo anyway). Soon as you put bulb in and switch on my Echo dot picked up a new device and installation was over in a minute or two.Having these bulbs do not require a hub, they are dimmer bulbs so, in our case, we turned our main living room lights into dimable (words?!? Lol) without changing our light switches.Works with the Philips app and/or Echo so Alexa can control your lights on voice command.Phillips Hue command a high price, but for me you get what you pay for. I recommend this bulb but would recommend you keep an eye out for sale offers which seem to come up quite often. I managed to pick up half price offers so jump on them when they come up.There is one con, if it is one, that’s having to train yourself not to switch the light switch off or the obvious outcome is you can’t control your bulbs using app or echo ... this took a little mind training on our part and occasionally we forget. It’s not a big deal really, just means you are back to an old fashion manual switching on and off of your lights ... the hardship! But with extreme confidence.

Very good product, wouldn’t use any other brand.
I’ve used Phillips Hue now for over 3 years, they’ve always been easy to install in terms of screwing them in, pairing up to the Phillips hue app and away you go. It’s always a product I feel has a large degree of simplicity but great effectiveness.I used these bulbs all around my house, from freestanding lamps to the mains powered light in our bedroom to outside lighting. We recently paid an electrician to fit mains powered fittings to our garden and I decided the best bulbs to install would be Phillips hue. They did not disappoint and with the simple command of “Alexa, Garden Lights on!” you can control the lights easily. It’s also impressive to friends and family when showing off their abilities.Although the cost of these bulbs are considerably more than some cheaper alternatives, the support that Hue offer through their app and online, I feel, gives the product a major advantage.

HUE WHITE or HUE WHITE Ambiance?
I bought it in bundle and I did not pay attention there is two different type of hue white.AMBIANCE:CONS-cost 50% morePRO-you do not need to chose 2200K-2700K-3000K or 4000K bulb, you can set up later-you can switch between nice soft or bright color as needed-you can use as a night light because dimms down to 1% (with basically 0 energy usage)-more efficient, only uses 8.5W instead of 9W for the 806lmThe light is warm, very good, like an old 75W bulb, but not as bright as a "modern" 72W (=100W) halogen, I also tried out an old 20W fluorescent, now I just call it "the boss" :) (but that needs few minutes to warm up)Connectivity is brilliant: does not need a bridge, just a modern echo dot (say:"Alexa, discover") (but also works with a single phone thru bluetooth far from any internet connection). I deduct 1 star because only can dimmed between 20-100%.I had some connection problem using bulb with different firmware, there is an update to install int "hue blutooth" app.
