Hands down the best digital camera I have ever used
I have been purchasing a string of second-tier digital camera over the past 20 years. Eventually the mechanisms stop working or they work very slowly. In every case I had been so disappointed with the images after reviewing them on a computer, even when they look great on the tiny screen.HOWEVER...I purchased this camera after repeatedly asking which camera had been used to take photos at my husband’s office functions. Invariably they were all taken by the same guy, who owned a Sony RX100 VII.His photos outshone all other photos taken at the same events by miles. The quality of light, clarity and ability to change depth of field blew me away.I finally got my Sony RX100 VII this year, in time to photograph videos at a funeral and vacation photos. I bought a separate leather case and a different neck strap, which made me feel secure about taking it everywhere without fear of destruction. Even so, I was very careful not to take a single step without first closing the case.I love the quality of the video and photos this camera produces!I especially love the ability to fire up the camera instantly by popping up the viewfinder. (I’m old and prefer to frame my photos that way rather than the big screen on the back, although in some cases it was good to have that option, especially when I used the viewfinder flipped to a different angle.Overall, I am extremely happy with this camera and have zero negative things to say about it. (Maybe it could be less expensive?)Highly recommended!!!

Failed sooner than other Sony's I have
This camera is a handy compact size and weight and takes good pictures. I have rated it a three because it has a glitch where it freezes up and won't respond to zoom or other buttons. For a while, a reset would work, but after a while, it didn't work any longer. It is widely reported (complained about) on the Internet. We had it for four years and took just over 9,000 pictures with it, but this compares sadly to a Sony X10 that I bought at the same time and has taken nearly 37,000 pictures without any issues.

Lives up to the all the HYPE !!!
After reading about this cam for over a year, I recently decided to "upgrade" from a huge , bulky DSLR with lenses to this camera.I am 110% satisfied with my choice to sell my old cam and now carry this tiny little beauty around in my pocket.It does everything I need it to, shoots an amazing image and the size cannot be beat.(attached image is raw and unedited)

One battery doesn't work and seller won't correct this
one of the batteries did not fit the camera and despite two emails from the seller saying he'd contact me, there has been no definitive contact or resolution

Great compact camera
I replaced a large camera and two lens with this compact. I can put this in my pocket or a small pouch and still had the same zoom capacity. Everything was included with the kit, nothing missing. Picture quality is outstanding.

This camera is what I was looking for.
I just received it. I did not try it yet but it will fit my need of a walk around camera.I really do not understand the rating 'warmth' and 'thickness'.

Camera has an incompatible lens with most photo software
I bought this camera and accessory bundle because I wanted RAW photos and software that could adjust the photos. The Corel Photo-Video Suite that comes in the bundle cannot be used on my Apple (MAC) computer. They agreed to substitute a much less robust software package, AfterShot Pro. However, it is not compatible with the camera.Also, my current photo adjustment software cannot adjust the RAW images, either. The photo shows the curvature from the lens that cannot be corrected.The camera takes nice enough images, but the price is very steep for not being able to use the features. If I could return the camera (I got it for Christmas and have been testing it out - so packaging is gone, etc.) I would.

Great sports action camera.
If you are a football parent and want great shots and multiple shots at highspeed this is the camera you want if you dont want to drop 10k on the sony A9.
