It is designed what it is suppose to do. We like the overall design and the color. The weight of the dishes are substantial.

I was looking for understated but not boring dinnerware. These fit the bill. Purchased 2 sets, 1 plate arrived warped. At first I was was disappointed and was going to return but then I thought, "neither are we." It's now the "lucky" plate.The color is more brown a neutral dark brown with a "hint" of metallic in the glaze. This means it goes with everything. You can dress it up or down. The pattern is somewhat off on in some places and does not have a crisp line, some of the raised dots and dents are not perfect or uniform. If you're OCD, matchy-matchy or like clean and linear patterns this would drive you nuts. The lines where the white (a very light cream) meets the pattern is smudged rather than a distinctive stamped edge. It sounds as if this is a negative. Quite the opposite. It gives it a hand crafted appeal.These have been through the dishwasher regularly and haven't lost any color or integrity. The bottom ring (where bowl,mug,plate touches the table) is slightly rough so use place mats to avoid marks on your table. They're loads better than most stoneware and can be safely stacked on each other. I use them daily and as I said have dressed them up. They are substantial without being ridiculously heavy, I don't feel like a lumberjack eating out of them and my boys don't feel they're at a tea party.Bonus* The pattern texture gives you a GRIP on bowls- which we actually USE. They are perfect size and depth for soups and cereals. This goes for mugs (nice size handles- again a GRIP) as well as the salad plates.

I love this dinnerware. Looks good and wears well. Plan to buy more sets. Also bought a set for my daughter

They look terrific and have a nice weight to them. Can mix and match with so many dishes.
