Do NOT buy!!!
Do not buy, overpriced junk. I just finished assembling and because of the screws provided the spring ripped out of the top. They seemed to think that a less than half inch screw with a miniscule thread would hold a 15-20lb spring. Lasted me opening it about three times before it ripped out the top. The hinges won't last long either. But until the kids destroy it it'll look pretty for about a week.Update: It's been one month and it has collapsed. Totally shot. I've never felt so ripped off. I could have spent half of the money and got a better product. Seriously do not waste your money on this.

Medicore Chest
Mediocre chest. I am very happy with the look of this chest but the assembly hardware is the worst quality I have ever seen. It consists of a series of mounting pins and lock screws (the same you see on most low priced furniture), but the pins were too short and the locking screws could not catch. When the locking screws did catch they broke very easily. With the supplied assembly hardware alone, this chest could not be touched without falling apart..I would give this chest 2.5 stars if I could.Luckily I am handy and spent an extra $20 dollars at the local hardware store and added additional assembly hardware. Notice the L shaped brackets inside the chest. I also added two extra spring hinges (overkill) because the standard hinges would not have held for very long.Pros:1) Solid wood (appears to be pine)2) Great paint3) Good quality spring hinge4) Even though the assembly hardware was junk the solid wood construction made it easy upgrade the hardware with store bought parts.Cons:1) The hardware was complete junk...2) Needed to buy extra supplies to make usable.

Great overall.
Ver nice toy chest with good quality construction. I would have given it 5 stars but the twist connectors were a little more fragile than a lot out there ( I broke one and bent another during the build) and it would be nice if the chest had some kind of feet instead of the full flat bottom. Minor things though and I really like it.

Great addition to our toddler's room
Great addition to our toddler's room. Solid wood with a beautiful finish and soft white color that goes well with any decor. Only minor issue was with the locking nuts provided. I snapped a few of them off trying tighten them down. I went to Lowe's and replaced all of them with more robust versions. Overall very happy with my purchase.

VERY UPSET
The screws holding the hinge that stops the lid from slamming down gave way and the lid slammed down on my granddaughter's hand full force. I don't know how the bones in her hand were not broken! I have not heard back from Quirky since the initial acknowledgement of my email. The screws cannot be retightened. We have removed the lid and are awaiting a response from the company.

I would buy it again!
The toy box is very well constructed, a very attractive and nicely finished piece of furniture that will last a long time. It assembles with a phillips screwdriver. It's a bit tricky to get the cam type connectors screwed in to the proper depth, but once you figure that out, it's quick and easy.

Not for kids only!
This was fun to put together and looks great in my bedroom. Nothing juvenile about it.

Sturdy and won't slam on fingers
Very sturdy, easy assembly, and the lid comes with a spring so it does not slam down and smash any fingers. It is also big to hold a lot of toys.
