HOBO by Onset MX1101 - Temperature/Relative Humidity Data Logger

Great little data logger. Connect with BlueTooth using your phone. Does not connect to wifi. Seems to work within 20 feet or so, great for stuffing in an attic and reading remotely without climbing up. I used it to test how moist and area of my basement got after spraying some foam on the walls. I determined it's safe for storage now. Now I've proven I need to fix the ventilation in my garage as it's too moist. The batteries have lasted for 4 months now, I don't think they're down a bar yet. Nice little tool.

I installed this in a server room rack to collect temperature and RH data. As the room is in a locked room behind keycard access control, I really wanted to be able to walk by and collect my data without having to enter the space. I've found that I can easily collect data over bluetooth to my smartphone through the door and walls at a distance of about 50 feet. In fact, there is a little bench down the hall where I can sit and grab my readings. So far, I've been collecting continuous data since May 25th (just over 1 month) and the datalogger memory is still not full (T, RH, Max, Min). The graphs produced are very nice and readable - suitable for presentation, and raw data can be downloaded in CSV and other useful formats. Share to SMS, email, etc. with a click. I have been very impressed with this unit's usability and data retention. Battery life is also excellent. The user app is top notch and easy to use. I have checked accuracy by placing this little logger into another server room with an expensive, dedicated monitoring unit and found excellent agreement between temp and RH values. Thus far, I have no criticisms of this logger. Excellent performance for the price.

Wonderful device. Easy & convenient to use. Made the diagnosis of an intermittently failing refrigerator very clear. If they were a little less expensive, I would buy one for each of a number of appliances I would like to be able to more easily monitor.

I have a moisture issue in my house that I'm trying to decide how to deal with. But first thing I needed was data on how bad it really was and when. This tool has been great for collecting that information. Super easy to pair with the app on my phone and download the data. (App could use some user interface love, but it's functional.)

Setting the trending at 15 minutes the batteries are able to last a year. I bought ten and I am using them to sample temp and humidity for a building project build out.

Works great ! but don't get them wet

This unit is super easy to set up and configure. It has upper and lower alerts for both temp and RH, with an audible alert if desired. Easily exports the data in Excel or text or an image. Great connectivity with the mobile app and has an option for security access if desired. The only knock is the power supply. I’ll have to keep AAA batteries on hand and it is an inconvenience to take the unit down, open it up swap batteries and hang it back up. I bought a different data logger from ilastore-US and it was absolute junk…stay away from that merchant and that product! Update 12/8/2016: This unit was on the wall for a month presumably collecting data, but when I went back to collect the data the unit does not function. The merchant jumped at the 30 day support window and bailed out on providing any type of support (they got their money…see ya). So while easy to use and seemingly easy to get information from, it is clearly a piece of junk. I am now forced to contact the manufacturer and hope I can get some support, but I do not have high hopes.

I love how tiny this is and easy to use. Not made for a factory use where you cannot take your phone with you.
