Q: Is there any particular type of aquarium fish that this best works with? I have Comets, Shubunkins, as well as a baby koi and larger Ryukins

I work at an aquarium and we used this kit during a summer camp about animal training. The camp was for Middle School and High School Students. All students in the camp were able to train their fish to do something in the kit in just 1 week. The fish that we used were Black Moor Goldfish and either a Comet or Shubunkins Goldfish. The second fish listed being the smartest and quickest learner. I would recommend this kit to anyone trying to train their fish! It was amazing and really showed our summer campers how animal training works.

Q: can you use it on betta fish?

Yes. Definitely. I trained a betta, and it learned a trick on the first day.

Q: About how long does it take to train your fish one of the tricks?

I have started training two fish with it. My goldfish was already going through the hoop after a week, she took to the feeding wand right away and chased it all over the tank. It took the betta quite a bit longer to figure out that the food was coming from the wand but after he figured that out he learned the hoop pretty quickly as well.

Q: What length is the feeder stick. I have a 29 gal tank and a 4 to 5 inch comet goldfish. Will my fish be to big and will the wand be too short?

The wan is about 14 inches, but your fish is too big for the rest of the kit. I have big fish too, so, I gave it to a friend who has smaller fish.
