Nayoya Abdominal Mat

I have a slight curve at the bottom of my spine which makes my tail bone press out when doing regular situps. I needed something to help alleviate the pain on that tender spot while allowing me to complete normal floor ab excercises. Works well on my yoga mat to keep from sliding on my hardwood floors. Have to say this has helped me achieve my goal of routine ab exercises, all while being pain free. I use this in rotation with my exercise ball. I can see this offering assistance to someone getting into a healthy ab routine while they build up their lower back and ab muscles. And is great for people who suffer tail bone problems like myself.

This abmat along with the ab roller and waist trimmer Nayoya Waist Trimmer Sauna Belt are the 3 best tools I own for a nice midsection. Of course diet plays a huge role in the way your body looks but I already have my bodyfat levels low. Combining ab mat workouts with the ab roller has made a dramatic difference in the definition of my abs. Also doing my workouts with the waist trimmer helps remove alot of water from my midsection because it does a great job of mimicking a 'sauna effect'. What I love about this mat is the design which fits perfectly underneath my back and feels tailor made for the shape of my back. This gives me the perfect range of motion for my upper abs and lower abs as I use it for weighted crunches as well as leg lifts and superset it with 10 roll outs with my ab roller.This ab mat doesnt put any strain on my lower back which alot of ab products tend to do and lets me isolate and work my core without interference from my lower back or sides.

This is way to high in my opinion. I've used a few different types of these, and this one is hard and has a really "highly curved" lumbar. I'll see how it goes over time.

This is a nice, firm mat to help you get into the correct position to do crunches on the floor. It is VERY firm, but that is a good thing, and means that it will last a while without breaking down. I'm short (5'1) , so it took a few tries to get my back set on it right, but you can feel the proper core muscles being worked once you get it right.

I'm not sure why I didn't think it was as big as it was but it is and that's fine. It works. I've had a lot of trouble executing ab work when working out ever since I had my son. Sit-ups, crunches, jack hammers, reverse crunches were all off limits to me until I purchased this. It relieves the ache I sometimes feel when I have to come back down. And no one is going to continue doing something that causes them pain. But obviously I need to rebuild muscles I once had and to do that I need to be able to focus part of my workout on floor work. Not only can I do sit ups and crunches now.... I can shift the mat a little further south and have a better time with reverse crunches and leg scissors. So if you suffer from lower back pain or discomfort and you enjoy working out, this is for you!

Since I started working out with a Trainer at my gym she introduced me to Abdominal Mats, depending on how you use them they simplify or make the crunches you do more challenging and more targeted, yet always comfortable and support your back. First and foremost the Abdominal Mat is intended to support an individual's back, that as I'm told is the primary purpose. Also, the abdominal Mat assists in performing crunches correctly. I became accustomed to using the ab mats at my gym, they make you want to do more crunches. This mat however, feels like your being stabbed in the back. It does not provide comfort, in fact it makes doing crunches more painful than doing them flat on your back on the ground. I don't usually write reviews, but for the love of your back stay away from this product. I opened up the product and its not a firm cushion, but some form of calcified bubble wrap and a thick piece of cardboard. Seriously, if you don't believe me open it up. I strongly believe I could have made the same product, but better by recycling the plastic and cardboard from all the waste left over from shipments from amazon. If I wasn't lazy that is. Again, I don't write reviews that often, but the pain I endured was senseless. Before someone says he must have tried it once and gave up, no for the money I spent I used it at least three times for a periods of 30-45 mins. I truly believe the repeat uses were the stupidest decision of my life, and believe me I have no trouble making stupid decisions, my life is a continuously absurd stupid decision. Lastly, I apologize for the poor grammar. I could have gone back and fixed it, buts its saturday and I just finished cleaning my room and reading this again would depress me about the money I wasted on this product. Lastly, I'm not saying don't use abdominal mats, in fact I highly recommend them, they have helped me do proper and meaningful crunches. I'm just saying you can do better.

I found this mat and really wanted to try it based on the concept and the previous reviews. Everything about this mat lives up to the high praise that it is getting in the reviews. The mat fits under your lower back and helps with a different ab workout. I have found that the mat is giving but not too much where you end up flat on the ground working out as normal. It helps with lower back pain for those who have it while doing an ab workout on the flat, hard ground. This mat gives you a little more of a range of motion than just the ground, working your muscles more. I would definitely recommend this to add to a home gym. I have found that I use it much more now because I like not being on the ground.
