Pro Fit Full-Size Wireless Mouse (K72370US),Black/Silver

I have generally stayed away from wireless mice for various reasons.. bad tracking, excessively expensive, lack of back and forward buttons, internal batteries that can't be removed and charged by myself, mushy or otherwise annoying to use scroll wheels, etc. My all time favorite wired mouse has been the Logitech MX-518. I must say that this wireless mouse has perfect right handed ergonomics, tracks well on the bed sheets I use it on, uses an AA battery which lasts much longer than AAA batteries and puts my eneloops to work, and seems to have similar button feel to the MX-518 with a nice scroll wheel as well, along with perfectly positioned back and forward buttons. I don't know if I'd use it for gaming, I'd stick with the MX-518, but for general browsing it's perfect, and the price is right. One thing of note... this full size mouse is large, larger (more like wider) than an MX-518. If you want a mouse similar to the size of a typical mouse, go down a size. If you are right handed with nice wide hands, you'll like this mouse.

I've got fairly large hands (about 7.5" from tip of index finger to wrist, 8" from tip of middle finger to wrist), and have been using the Kensington Pro Fit Full Size mouse for years. The size is perfect for me, it has exactly the buttons I want without adding in a bunch I'll never need (but will probably hit by accident), and has never failed me when it comes to accurate tracking. This is my first use of the wireless version, and it carries over all of the things I like about the wired. The finish is also nicer on the wireless, with an embossed thumb rest and more texture on the buttons. I can't comment on battery life yet, but the batteries it came with are still reading as strong on a tester after about a month. I've got it positioned about 4 feet from the dongle with pretty poor line-of-sight, and it's been maintaining a solid connection. Do note that there are a couple different sizes in the Kensington Pro Fit lineup. If you've got average-sized hands, this mouse might feel uncomfortable to you. If you've got small hands, I can almost guarantee you'll hate this mouse. There's a "Mid-Size" version (which I believe even comes in fun colors) that would probably be better for you. I'll probably switch out the wired mice on my other systems with another one of these in the future. If it lasts as long as Kensington's wired version (one of mine is 7+ years old), I'll be using it for a long time.

I bought this mouse because I have large hands (I wear XL gloves) and this mouse fits great. It is responsive and works well and has all the buttons you'd expect. The range of the dongle is pathetic though. It probably works fine with a laptop but I am using it with a desktop and had to get a USB extension cable to position the dongle close to the mouse. Once I did that it has worked fine since. Also, it goes to sleep pretty quickly, like after about 5 minutes it seems and you have to click a button to wake it up. Simply moving the mouse doesn't wake it up. Those are minor issues to me and I only took away one star for those since it otherwise works great and it isn't easy to find a large mouse that is comfortable to use all day.

Very nice mouse. The mouse is taller than most, and wider, so it fits in my hand very well. The tallness allows me to rest the palm of my hand on the mouse. The bottom profile is larger than most mice, so it glides a little slower than I am used to. Therefore, I increased the cursor speed to maximum and it works great. I like the side scroll feature of the wheel and it has a very nice weight to it. Oh, and the wheel is rubbery, not hard plastic. The best thing is that the dongle is large and has 2.4 GHZ wireless, so the signal is nice and strong. I had tried using an M510 Logitech wireless mouse with my PC, but the wireless dongle is just too small - that mouse is for laptops and not PCs. Also, this Kensington mouse was just knocked on the floor but took zero damage. I really like the size of this mouse. My hand cramps easily and this mouse is great!

This is very much a Goldilocks story, with the Pro-Fit Mid-Size mouse being too small, and the Pro-Fit Full-Size mouse being too big. For reference, I’ve been using a Microsoft Explorer Mouse model 1362 for over 10 years. I love every aspect of it, particularly how comfortably it fits my hand. I needed another mouse for an additional computer, and decided to try the Kensington Pro-Fit Wireless models. I first went with the Mid-Size mouse since I wear a medium size glove and there were some complaints about the Full-Size model being too large, even for large hands. Unfortunately, the Mid-Size mouse was just too small for my hand: both fingers projected over the front edges of the top buttons (my middle finger by over 5/8” from the front edge of the right button), making use of the scroll wheel and the button behind it very awkward. Also, my thumb rested on the front edge of the front side button, making both side buttons awkward to use as well. Plus, the contour of the top of the mouse felt very unnatural, as I had to flatten my hand quite a bit to rest it fully on the mouse. I then tried the Pro-Fit Full-Size mouse. Unfortunately, it proved to be too large. My index finger was 3/8” short of the front edge of the left button, and I couldn’t extend my thumb far enough forward to reach the front side button. And, as with the Mid-Size mouse, it had the same unnatural feeling top contour, which required me to flatten my hand to fit. Since Kensington doesn’t see fit to provide the dimensions of these mice I thought it would be helpful to provide some elevation and top photos of both mice using quadrille (5 squares per inch) paper for a background. I’ve also included elevation photos of my Microsoft Explorer mouse for comparison. Briefly, the Pro-Fit Mid-Size mouse dimensions are: 4.25L x 2.7W x 1.62H inches. The dimensions of the Pro-Fit Full-Size mouse are: 5L x 3.2W x 1.8H inches. (Any apparent variation in size from one view to another is due to parallax.) Note that the contour of the top of the Explorer mouse is a smooth, almost constant radius curve, both longitudinally and laterally, with a mild drop-off to the right (viewed from the rear). This provides a very comfortable fit to the relaxed human hand. In comparison, the top longitudinal contour of both Kensington mice is a much tighter radius curve for the rear half, becoming almost flat for the front half. There is a pronounced longitudinal ridge down the center, and only a very slight drop-off to the right (when viewed from the rear). That top contour does not fit my relaxed hand at all and, as I mentioned above, I have to flatten my hand quite a bit if I want it to rest on top of either Kensington mouse. On top of the ill fit of both, the Pro-Fit mice scroll wheels have very pronounced and coarse detents, giving them a very rough and cheap feel. Particularly in comparison to the very smooth feel and fine resolution of my Explorer mouse. Both Kensington Pro-Fit mice are being returned, and the search for the perfect mouse continues. If only Microsoft still made their model 1362 Explorer mouse. (;^)

I love people calling themselves bigger than average. Well average for male is 5'10" and no offense to anyone but that is not tall, but being taller than average doesn't take much. So that said, I'm 6'6" and I love this mouse. Works just fine with my macbook. Didn't have upload anything, plugged it in, adjusted the sensitivity to my liking and I am using it now. Can't say anything for the battery life, seems fine given that I haven't changed it yet. I do prefer to use it on a mousepad, something I don't usually do, but that was a couple dollar fix. Great mouse, Great size, Great price, Great buy. Continues to be a fantastic mouse to use. Its embarrassing to admit but I have dropped it twice walking from the library to class and it still works great. The shell that rest against your palm popped loose, I pushed it back on and went on my way. I do wish the USB antenna (or whatever it is called) was smaller like many of Logitechs wireless mouse products, but for the price, no complaints.

Just got this mouse. Sat down with it and immediately regretted it. The body is way too long. When I rest my hand over the mouse in the natural manner, I cannot reach the scroll wheel (although I can click the left and right buttons). To use the scroll wheel I have to move my hand up to the front of the mouse, holding my hand up in the air in a position that is sure to cause fatigue. Don't order this mouse unless you have really big hands or you don't use the scroll wheel much. Oh, and by the way the mouse pointer is not moving reliably. I can move the mouse for a fairly large distance sometimes and the pointer won't move at all. Might be my mouse pad but no other mouse has exhibited this behavior with the same mouse pad. Addendum: Oh, here's something else I just discovered: it has auto power off. Some people might want this, but it isn't mentioned in the product description as far as I can see. I just knocked off one more star because of that. I have a mouse I like much more than this one and I don't use if for one reason: it has auto power off and there is no way to disable it. For those who don't know, this is a feature some wireless mice have to conserve power. If you walk away for a few minutes, or just don't use the mouse, the mouse powers down. This effectively means that the pointer freezes up and moving the mouse has no effect. You have to click the mouse button to wake it up. It is endlessly annoying to move the mouse to find where the pointer is (I have three large screens so I have to do this a lot) and then realize that the pointer has frozen up once again. Again, this might be a desirable feature to some people, but for people like me who will absolutely not (knowingly) buy a mouse with this feature, there should be a big notice in the article description. If they think this is so great, why don't they want to advertise it?

Update: I came back to remove a star. The left button sticks terribly and picks things up and moves them around that I don't want to pick up and move around. The scroll wheel is still terrible. It's time to start looking for a new mouse. Original review (three stars): I've had this mouse for a year and half now and I don't know how I've lasted this long. I keep plodding along with it because it is a comfortable mouse to use and it's hard to find a mouse that works well for large hands. But the scroll wheel is terrible (it literally zooms out when you want to zoom in, or moves you up a page when you want to scroll down). You have to click to wake the mouse up after about five minutes, which sometimes causes me to click on things that I don't want to click on. And when I have another thumb drive plugged into the space next to the USB connector for the mouse, I have a hard time getting the cursor to move at all. It just freezes. I should have returned it when I had the chance. Three stars is probably a generous rating.

I ordered this mouse as I was looking for a bigger mouse than the usual sized mice, as I wasn't comfortable using them. I like this mouse a lot but the only thing is it's gigantic even for a hand of my size, it's a little too big to handle. I might order the kensington mid-size, which would be rather ideal size!

I hate this mouse. It constantly needs double clicks to engage, both left button and scroll wheel. Apparently this is normal but I've not come across such painful operation in my 20 years using mice. Also too large for my large hand - can't reach the scroll wheel when in comfortable position.
