My almost eight-year-old daughter enjoys playing with Legos but it has been difficult to find a series that really engaged her attention as she is quite a girly girl and enjoys fantasy play revolving around dolls. Many of the Lego series seem catered more to boys, and some of the gender neutral sets are a bit more complex for her - we worked on the townhome once and she lost interest after a while because she found it complicated, even with my help (and I ended up working on it!).Well, I came across this Lego Friends series while browsing online and it seemed like a neat idea for young girls to develop an interest in Legos. My daughter loves it and delights in completing the different sets (purchased over a period of time) so that she can build her own little Lego Girls' Village! I am definitely getting her more from this series because it has not only engaged her attention, but also increased her patience and level of concentration as she worked on it. It is also a great toy for building hand-eye coordination and developing one's imagination. For the more complex sets such as the treehouse and the beauty salon, extra patience is required but the payoff more than makes it worth a child's time. The bricks come in small plastic bags and there is a full-color instruction booklet that provides step-by-step instructions. To avoid losing the pieces, I place them in small plastic containers found at home and label them so that it is easy for my daughter to work on the set. This is a highly recommended toy for young girls interested in Legos.

These things are cute.....They're easy to do and the kids love them. Finally......after all those years of LEGO's when you had to try to be creative and build something....which usually came out to be a tower.......imagination I have not !!!!!! LOL.......

Love the friends all of them they are the best thing since Barbie-. We have Emma & Olivia's house so why not add an apt. to the neighborhood. Now Mia & Andrea will be sharing an apt Hmm guess that means I am going to have to think outside the box again for Stephanie to have her place to call homeItem arrived on time in good condition & no hitches... .

The LEGO Friends collection is an inexpensive way to provide a little gift when your granddaughter comes to visit. She does have other items in the collection, but always looking for more. Most of the LEGO items are geared to boys once a child outgrows the toddler stage. It's nice to see some sets for girls.

It seems that a number of these "Friends" kits from Lego contain more fussy little pieces than 'building blocks'. I'm starting to get annoyed by all the little plastic flowers. This kit includes a drum set. My five year old has done a couple of these kits before and enjoyed sorting the pieces by color, following the instructions, and putting it together with occasional help from a parent. The visual directions make it pretty easy for kids to do it on their own.Once together, it is a bit frustrating to play with as the little pieces of the drum kit tend to come off during play. The minifig slides off her bed easily unless she is standing on it. I'm not really sure what else we could make out of the pieces that come with this little kit. It's kind of like a three dimensional puzzle as opposed to a building kit. We got more mileage out of the puppy house and the bunny house 'Friends' kits in terms of play.There are always a few odd, non-building brick accessory pieces left over when you're finished with these kits. Would be nice if they threw in a couple of extra standard building blocks to go with... I keep hoping that if we get a few of these kits we'll have enough to build other things, but much of what you get with these Friends kits are smooth topped finishing bricks and odd little accessory pieces. Also a shame that the center piece of the flower sets is not a useable brick.Meh to this kit.

Happy, Happy, Happy, all three of us are happy and these little Lego kits make those "I am bored days" absolutely go away without letting her be on electronics. These are cute products and once again Amazons price beats all the Big Box stores.

I bought this for almost $10. The website shows a box, but what I really got was a tiny, tiny bag of pieces. I am amending my previous review because, although the message on the website said that it was not eligible to be returned, when I emailed customer service, they not only responded within an hour, but they gave me a refund. I didn't like the product, but I liked the customer service!

Disappointed with the set....
