Oi Organic Cotton Tampons, Box of 16 Regular Tampons, Compact Plant-Based Applicator

I was a bit hesitant the first time I used these tampons, but truly, I'm so happy I gave it a chance. I love that I'm using organic cotton too. The insertion of the tampon may not be as "glidy" and "slidy" as Tampax or Kotex, but the absorbency is just as good. I haven't had one accident. I plan on continuing to use the product.

I haven’t used tampons in YEARS, since before I had my first child. For whatever reasons, after delivering my babes, I found tampons to be extremely uncomfortable for me. I tried several times and would end up taking them out mere minutes after putting them in because my body couldn’t tolerate them anymore. After that, I tried everything else under the sun. Cups, soft cups, menstrual sponges, reusable pads, organic disposable pads, etc. All left something to be desired or just did not work for me and my body. I’m really big on being environmentally conscious where I can be and also taking care not to put more harmful toxins in my body. For the longest time, I had just settled on using washable pads, but I hated the bulk of them and feeling like I was wearing a wet diaper. They would also slip and move too much for my liking and I’d end up with leaks. I was so tired of dealing with them that I reluctantly decided to try tampons again after 7+ years. I did a lot of research and knew I wanted something organic. There are a lot of options for organic on the market now, which is awesome! But other boxes need to be checked as well. I need a good applicator, comfort, no leaking, a good price point, and good absorbency. After using these, I am amazed! I don’t feel them at all, which is incredible considering all tampons I’d used in the past were causing me major discomfort. These don’t even worsen my already hellacious cramps. I don’t know what sorcery this is but I’m not complaining. What’s more is that they didn’t leak and seem to be plenty absorbent. The applicator is great (I read a ton of reviews on multiple other organic tampons that the applicator would fail to release, but these do not have that issue) and I noticed on the box that it is made from an eco friendly plastic. And of course, they are organic. So far, these are perfect! The only reason for 4 stars is that my box came crushed with tampons loose in my Amazon package.

These could have been great, but the applicator sucks. These tampons have left me twice with nothing to use because of the applicator. It’s a compact applicator so after you unwrap it you need to pull the bottom part down, if you pull it too far the entire applicator falls apart, not to mention when the applicator is already inside and you push up on it to insert the cotton it gets stuck to the applicator which resulted in me having to throw two out because I pushed the applicator as far as I could and when I went to remove it the cotton also came out with it. Sadly I won’t be repurchasing. I don’t know who would have time to be messing around with these tampons...it’s bad enough you have to deal with your period then you have to worry about wasting tampons when they’re already expensive to buy.
