In college I had a military duffel bag that I used to tote my laundry back and forth to the laundromat. Recently I went to the local military surplus store and found that the same duffel that I had used was of lesser quality that what I'd had and the price was higher than I wanted to pay. That led me to look on Amazon and find this Stansport Deluxe Duffel Bag and purchase the largest size available; 50" x 30". When it arrived I was thrilled with the quality and happy I'd made the purchase. As my daughter prepares for high school graduation I've been gathering up gifts that I think will be useful to her in college. The cool thing is, now I have a great bag to stuff them in and she too will have the ideal laundry helper as an additional gift! What I like about this product.... + The largest size (the one I bought) is HUGE! I'm 5'6" and I could stuff myself completely into it. Carrying two sleeping bags with room to spare would be no problem with this bag. + Heavy-duty construction with tough canvas and strong stitching makes me think this will last a long time with hard use. + The handles and strap are right where you need 'em! + The price is incredible for a bag of such great quality. I would have expected to pay twice as much. +/- The black color does show scuff marks, so it will look weathered quicklly. +/- You may want to spray it with a water-repellent spray if moisture is a concern for you. +/- The largest size is really, really big, and when loaded it may be way too heavy for some to carry. Maybe go a size down if your load will be a heavy one? I would not hesitate to recommend this bag and probably will buy more to give as gifts. I needed a large laundry bag. I send laundry out, so it doesn't need some of the typical characteristics, such as a waterproof lining and waterproof exterior bottom panel. All I needed was jumbo. And boy is this jumbo. This isn't standard duffel bag size. You should clearly visualize a bag not just 50" tall but almost a yard across (30"). The material seems very sturdy, and the closing mechanism secure, with reasonable quality hardware. But note: If you filled this with clothes, few ordinary people could carry this. It's immense. UPDATE: I actually did have to return this because of its outlandish size. As a laundry bag, only the Hulk could carry it even 3/4 full. It's not at all clear what this would be useful for in the ordinary life of ordinary humans. That being said, it does seem well made. You could in fact carry a adult person in this duffel bag, in case you want to check one on board to save airfare! Seriously, it's 54"x30".

I needed a bag to put my 7.5ft Christmas tree away. First I bought a green bag that was made specifically for that. But it was way bigger than it had to be - and ugly. I measured the largest part of the tree (dissembled) and figure that this bag would do the job. I don't regret. It is much nicer than the other one. I'm happy with my purchase and I recommend it.

Excellent canvas bag overall. I use it to haul two double-loads to the laundry mat and it's been very good for that purpose. Would make a good travelling bag or sports gear bag. My only complaint is the cheaply painted hardware - obvious a cut-corner to make an extra buck by the manufacturing plant - all the metal is actually silver in color.

This thing has an amazing amount of room in it and is super durable! I an store all of my gear in this for a day out ice fishing and, as long as I let it dry when I get home, it is always ready for the next adventure!

Quite a heavy-duty bag for carrying some equipment.
